Jan. 19-21 Trail Ride

The Type 093 WMA Small Game Permit is only $16. Unfortunately it runs out on Feb 29. If you normally keep a TWRA hunting/ Fishing License (type 001) the 093 will cover riding for a Whole year ( March 1- Feb 28). For this trip if you are planning on riding 2 days ( and you already have the 001 license) the 093 will be cheaper than 2 day permits. If you are planning on riding much next year the 001 and 093 are only $44.

Rob,
Would you happen to know what kind of places would sell the permits in that area? I will be arriving Friday evening, so I should have time on Friday or 1st thing Saturday morning but I have never purchased a TWRA permit before so I would like to avoid earning the dunce cap if possible.

Thanks

The map of Royal Blue I mentioned in the earlier post has been recently updated and can be found at: The Map Store in Knoxville, TN. Phone# (888)929-6277. Ask for Phoebe or Bud Blackwell. The map's name is the Royal Blue Wildlife Management Map. Cost is $6.95 and can be mailed to you for around $2. They have plenty in stock.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip ...dude! I picked up a map on the way home today.
Was tickled to see a 40 on the inside cover.

Lookin' forward to meeting everyone Sat. morning. Planning on arriving before 9am.

Looks like it's going to be COLD Saturday.

We have been told there is a store or mini mart by the exit that sells them. I will be up there around noon to locate the nearest place. Call me when you get in.

Well they have changed the forecast, the storm is coming early, Wednesday night/Thurs. morning look like the best chance of snow, so we should be good to travel on Friday. I plan to leave early Friday morning and should be there by 1 PM. My cel is 931-841-0672 if anyone needs and info on Friday.

If anyone needs something after arriving on Friday you can call me at 865-803-6595. We're nearby in Knoxville and could bring whatever up with us on Sat morning. - Shawn

p.s. That being said, 99% of your camping/4-wheeling needs can be purchased at Adult World (exit 141).

to all you new guys, TNFJ40 from knoxville is an old timer in the tlca. notice his membership number is 1050. that's 21 members before my number of 1071. folks, those are numbers from the old days. so old in fact, that i bought a cruiser from shawn years ago and sold it to Jesus. He had a camel for trade, but shawn did not need one at the time.
shawn has been a long time customer at TPI.
so i can vouch for his "paid dues" of knuckle bustin land cruiser expirence. and it looks like he'll be joining up saturday morning.
so if anyone breaks down 20 miles from camp at 2am in the morning, in the cold wet ice and snow on this trip, be sure to go see shawn for help. i'm sure he'll love to assist you.

hey shawn, you'll never forgive me for that one, will ya? ha!

Impressive snow has been falling in Kennesaw for the past 90 minutes or so and it came out of the south. It is sticking to almost everything except the roads for now.

You may not have to wait for the morning, because it might get there in three hours or so (ground speed is suppose to be around 30 mph).

It is just rain now. If it was colder, this amount of moisture would generate several inches of snow, so north Georgia and further in TN could see the snow if freezing temps hold through the night there. My kids are hoping this rain turns to ice by morning for the obvious school closings.

Good luck.

No school for Chattanooga kids! Some snow already.

Bob, I can think of nothing better than getting out of my warm bed at 2:00 AM to go out in the cold/snow to retrieve a Cruiser. Thanks for offering.:flipoff2:

Well Roger, Maris, Larry, and I are here drinking beer and sitting by a roaring fire. Pork chops by chef Rogér were delicious and yall missed a feast!

You can get permits here at the camp site and we're still planning on meeting up here and hopefully heading out around 10. Weather is here wish you were beautiful...

Bob...where are you??? We thought you'd be here by now!

Cell service is good and the campground is nice. We're the only ones here I believe. There are two cabins eight next to our RV site. I believe they are open if anyone wants them

Sounds like good times! See everyone around 9am. -Vic

Made it home and now de-stinkified. It was great to see everybody this weekend. Roger, thanks for the great food and diesel lit campfires. My truck said 9 degrees this morning on the little temp gage. Hope all of you were able to get back safely. Here's some pics I thought I'd share. Sorry, not many wheelin' shots but I was busy driving myself. Enjoy.

Thanks all for letting us Ford guys tag along! My 60 was at home staying warm.

Newcomer Aaron with his FJC survived the trip with only scratches to the paint (hopefully). Good to meet you Aaron and hope you had fun. I was truly impressed what a stock FJC would do but some tires would have made a huge improvement. Welcome to the addiction!

Marius getting some air from Greg's '74 Bronco & Larry with a quick electrical fix to get us back on the trail.
