I think you said 39's early on.
What are the final wheel and tire specs?

They look great!

Jason. Those are 39" krawlers on race line wheels.

I got my first look tonight. Its very well done. I'm impressed with the execution.

You guys can not comprehend the hours those guys have in this project.

Great job.

Thanks Grogan.

39x13.50x17 tires on 17x8.5 Raceline beadlocks.

I believe we got the running hot / "loping" figured out today. The engine temp sensor was bad and timing was just a smidgen off. Once we got these two fixed.....ran like a top.

This weekend we are going to get the forklift and figure out length and placement of limit straps. Had a bad brake line so we need to bleed brakes again. Drain the cooling system and fill with antifreeze. Tidy up any other loose ends. Oh yeah, and demo the steering so we can redo part of it next week (this is totally on me)....I have an "I told you so coming from JT)....

Once the steering is done she will be ready to run around Florence and see what breaks!...:)

There better not be "anything" that breaks! That SOB is so overbuilt! It looks great, sounds great and I'm sure it'll work great as well.

I remember back a few months ago when Butch Baker said "you rednecks are crazy!" We had done 2 spring overs and had that down to a science (since JT is our researcher and thread reader) but we were fixin' to dive off into a 4 link full hydro full frame FJ40! LOTS of hours, many beers, and all the songs on our iTunes accounts have resulted in this (almost done) beast. I have had fun learning, wrenching and spending time with all that have helped on this rig. Can't wait to see this thing on the trail at the Crawl. Heck I'll even wave at ya as I pass you in my little ole buggy! LOL sorry bro, had to do it!

I heckled the s*** out of this project. Handed wrenches to JT and Jrob. I cut several pieces of metal. And later threw them away. I have swept and smoked cigars. I drank some beers and went to the parts house twice in one night.

I had no idea what they were doing but Frankinrob is gonna be one bad mofo....

Where dat buggy thread?

Agree. It's absolutely awesome. I'll sneak over there before the Crawl and get pics and start a 3rd person thread on Bodean's buggy.

Please don't turn back time!

Wow!,...there has been a s*** Ton of work since this pic was taken....Hell, come to think of it, there was a s*** Ton of work before this was taken also!

Axles seem to be doing good, one hard ride to Clayton and one to fairly hard ride to hot springs and no breakage. My days with poly performance rear axles are DONE!!!!

Bang!!

Nice @jrob

I always tell everyone upgrading to PP axles in the rear that the Toyota stuff really never breaks if you drive your truck right and are smart.

I'm not necessarily convinced going away from OEM is always a good thing when building chassis components using Toyota parts.

Toyota has always been smart: overall their s*** works.

I don't understand how a full set of aftermarket rear axles (i.e. nitro) can cost $450 and be supposedly stronger, better, etc... yet toyota axles discounted still cost 2x that. The math doesn't add up for the aftermarket part????

What am I missing?

Edit: I'm not saying the yota axles are inferior

Jrob- we still need to settle up; please respond to my pm when you have a min.

At Hot Springs this New Years my ARB,s were acting up. At one point the drivers side front and rear were not pulling...very odd. iam going to research/troubleshoot this today....question, if it is a leak inside the diff, can I loosen the diff fill plug and soap it to see if it bubbles, that should work shouldn't it?
