Putting my 60 on the market. As much as I love this truck I am ready to start on a new diesel project.

1987 FJ60 Oregon truck its entire life and no rust
1989 Isuzu 4 Cyl turbo diesel with approx 200k
H55F 5speed new from Toyota El Cajon 25K
SOA ruff stuff
Nitro 4.88's front and rear ARB's
37 12.50 15 Irok radials X5
matching wheels

I am being very vague in my posting as I am hesitant to sell but am also curious as to if there would be any real interest in the beast.

Some things I have spared no expense, some things I have done to just get by. I built this truck for me only to my standards. It travels at 65 down the highway no problems a the while getting 20 mpg.

Here is my build thread: https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/274454-dirtgypsy-goes-soa.html

I have seen this truck first hand and it is impressive. Buyer will not be disappointed.

Although, I think Clint should keep it. One of a kind.

Thanks Guys! I appreciate it.

I am replacing a chirping release bearing on wed and cleaning up a small diesel leak at the rear fill neck.

Lots of emails! But still for sale.

Clint,

I'm a complete noob. Is this something that requires constant wrenching due to all the custom parts? A weld here, an obscure part that wasn't even meant for the FJ60 there, etc. ?

A salesman would say, "ready for a 5000 mile trip! Toyota trucks are invincible!

I'm pretty sure this is out of me league.. but it don't hurt to ask : )

Other than replacing the TO bearing an tightening clamps/ hoses and replacing the 200k mile worn out alt. I have done nothing with the truck for the past 8000 miles other than drive it, enjoy it and smile everytime I pass a car going uphill. With that if you have limited mechanical ability this truck or 60 series in general probably are not for you. They need more attention than a newborn.

Here is a good summary of what I am feeling about the truck. This is the reply to some questions that some have had in regards to the vehicle.

Hey XXXXXX,

Thanks for the compliments. I have done nothing else with the boost or tweaking on the engine. The last tweak was a little more fuel screw and all it gave me was worse fuel economy so I put it back to about 1/2 screw from normal. At this point its timing and some more research to find if this turbo really is suited to the motor to gain more. As far as the A/C; the compressor is mounted to the engine. I have had a few requests as to A/C and I am fairly confident that it can be done on pretty short order as all the parts with exception of the lost pulley and custom lines I have a go back into the stock location. I even have the cuircut that bypasses the gasser input so it will be a one button input for the diesel.

I really have one nagging issue with the truck and its the sum of the whole. Let me try to explain. The truck really is amazing, does everything pretty damn well and looks great. But there are errant welds here and there, a wire or electrical set up that I rushed, the paint and body work, the misc small annoying leaks and squeaks etc. I seem to get this idea that I want this or that, that it will be X amount of money and take Y amount of time. It always costs twice as much and takes twice as long. It becomes a stressor with taking away time and finances from my family. I have really just had it at this point. I could spend an infinite amount of time and energy on the truck and I would still not be satisfied.

I am a garage mechanic with limited resources but infinite vision and execution didnt always meet my needs or wants at times. I didnt build this truck to Proffits, Fc185, Valley Hybrids, 4X4 labs caliber and if that is what you are expecting then you will be disapointed. But what I did build was a very capable, very stout, and unique truck that will last a long time and give many years of faithfull service.

I feel ya on that ISH!!

Just keep it, turn the radio up, slam your foot on the gas, and forget about everything else.

Just use the damn thing and be happy :beer:

Not sure to tell you the truth. We just sold the wifes car so even if someone wanted this it's going no where. I suppose for a decent offer (read not 10k) or for a nice 40 and some cash I could be pursuaded to send it to a new home.

Right now I am just fixing little things here and there like block heater and fuel filters and enjoying it!

I will talk to the :princess: about selling my rig and my DD for this hoss. It is possibly my favorite rig on MUD, certainly top 5.

Although I will say I honestly hope you keep it.
