I'm interested to see if your liner protrusion is within spec and is consistant around every liner. I'm really suspicious as to if there is a high or low spot that's scrwing with your gasket. The MLS is absolutely intolerant of any inconsistancies like that.

I'll let you know when I have the head off and you can come give me a hand with that. Could use a second set of eyes.

Longbow did the v/b . It's a a440 not a a442 not anywhere near a match as far as I have been told , even from his builder. How did you come up that the converter was the problem with shutter, from what I got the tc is good for more than that motor can put out. The only thing you didn't do was the clutches. And as you said it's a tired 200 k plus tranny..I'm just picking up a cheap low k 442 next week .the guy did a 5 spd swap. Would you like me to get the contacts for your pedals shifter and such for you.

I took a guy for a drive that builds high performance transmissions for Cummins and he said it felt like a converter slipping. Said if it was gear clutches it would not all of a sudden start in 2 speprait gears (clutch packs). Whatever I'm not worried about it.

There was never a conclusive answer to weather or not the VB does or does not fit a hydrolic A442. Longbow did not know either wit out seeing it. But my val body when it was done used a VB gasket kit from a hydrolic A442 so they can't be that different.

Not a big deal, I'll just sell it to someone with a a440.

Would like the contact info for the guy that can get the pedals. Shifter and stuff will be all nv4500.

Yes the gaskets are the same. Some info for your tranny guy the weak link for these tc's are the front dowel pin need reinforcing. On the pedals ya I thought you would be using toyota stuff till you got to the bell housing .
Good luck on all a counts lord knows you've had your share of wrong roads

Yeah I'm going to use Toyota pedals in it. Did you have a source for the pedals and clutch pedal brakes.

Gnarlynick 202 has a SUCCESSFUL 5spd swap you might won't to check out. You can pm me if you can't figure it out. You got my number if I can't be reached on the net I'm kind of doing a fair amount of out of the service area right now.

So looking like I'm going with the diesel tim nv4500 adapter. Should work with shifter placement.

No parts ordered yet.

Dave Stedman @Japan4X4 was awesome in getting parts for the H151 swap I just completed in a FZJ80, pedals and all.

Are you going to go divorced HF2AV? I've been turning this over in my head. Can't decide if I want NV4500 or A442.
Nope, there are two options right now to fit a nv4500 into a 80 series. One is to go to split case. The other is to get the adapter that diesel adapters is making to fit the HF2A to it.

Interesting. I may be going this route as well. I'll know by the end of the weekend if I'm going to get in on the NV4500 to HF2AV group buy. Thnx for the reply.

Cool, more the better. Not sure what the count is at now?

@Wheelingnoob What is this NV adapter? Group buy? Sorry to drop in late but is this only for the Isuzu or is there a solution for the HDT?
