Is this too much rust?

I know the truck you're talking about. It's minutes away from the gym I go to.

You're not getting that for $10k. No way.

I put a deposit down and I am paying a little over $15k, do you think that is about right with the mileage and condition??? Again, I am new to this but it seemed like a good deal given my limited knowledge.

Based on what I have seen, that is a great deal...
$10k for an 03 with extremely low miles like that, I just don't see that happening unless the thing has some serious issues.

Ok, thanks, that makes me feel better. I don’t mind paying more for a good vehicle, I just don’t want to pay market price for a bad vehicle.

Kabanstva, have you went and checked the vehicle out or have you just seen it by passing by?

I saw the ad for it a few days ago and it caught my attention being a Texas truck in IL. Very rare.
Do you want me to swing by and check it out in person tomorrow? I am a professional detailer in Chicago and we do Pre Purchase Inspection so I kinda know what to look for haha. It also helps that I have an LX myself. Private message me if you want me to look at it for you and any areas that you want me to focus on.

I can call them and see if it's been sitting inside. We got dumped with a bunch of snow this weekend and have more coming tomorrow, so if it's sitting outside in this freezing weather, it may be a while until I can truly inspect it when all the snow melts.

Dude this is clean as anything... its a go if you checked other stuff out for sure.

I received additional pictures from he seller today, can I get opinions on the rust situation given those pictures....thanks in advance for your opinions....

this is an extension of a precious post where I was purchasing a 2003 lx470 with 116k miles and spent its life in Texas...I received additional pictures of the undercarriage, please tell me if this is concerning, dangerous, fixable, normal, excessive or any other comments that you have....thanks.

It doesn't look bad. Looks like it can easily be cleaned up, but doubt it's always been in Texas.

edit..maybe lived in Gulf Coast? Lots of time at the beach, but never rinsed off after.

I agree with Lex. Doesn't look like its always been in Texas. I have a LC got from Miami that is almost no rust at all. Its spotless. However this car has some rust. But I would consider this very low rust and would buy it for sure.
