That was why I called originally, I was attempting to get measurements and determine if it would solve or make the antenna issue worse. I had a manual 100 antenna so I just went with it. It wouldnt be too hard to relocate the antenna to the other fender though, or put a hidden one in.

Any updates on whether or not the new one works on US spec 100s with the antenna?

Deepest you've been? Anyone to the bawls.....

I think I'm going to make a custom snorkel from 3"-4" stainless steel tubing and I'm really going to think it out so I doesn't affect the power antenna. I plan on powder coating it too. I'm trying to figure out the intake of it.... I might try to use my existing K&N filter make some type of water-proof housing setup in the engine bay for the filter and add an additional filter the top of the snorkel with some air ram. Possibly a metal one... make it look unique.

* Really not sure how deep I'll ever take my cruiser.... a bit curious though how deep it can go????

WHO HERE IS THE # 1 JACQUES COUSTEAU of the iH8Mudders'?????

- WHAT'S THE DEEPEST...WINDSHIELD? I'VE SEE SOME PICS.....

- DOES IT FLOOD INSIDE THE CRUISER?

- IF SO, WHAT ABOUT THE ELECTRIC SEATS????

- & HOW LONG UNTIL IT FLOODS TO THE ANKLE OF A PASSENGER???

* WOULDN'T WANT TO GET THE CPU WET! :)

That looks like the exhaust vent on top of the McDonalds by my place. ....

if you drive your 100 into deep enough water... why yes it will flood (and no, you can't make a built in blow dryer to dry the carpets out either). If you have water pouring in you might want to re-think why you drove into the ocean rather than adjusting your seat after you got out.

Just my 2 cents. I'm done

Yay, that way when I swap the engine for the v8 TD and convert it into a vegi-oil cruiser its exhaust will smell like mcdonalds fries.

* Think the D's will sponsor me if I fuel up from their fryers? I'll even slap the golden arches logo on my bumper.

X2

the older one looks best with the 100 ;p

I disagree the airtec looks better then that... but the newest one is cool just not stoked about it being plastic.

I want metal...why don't any companies make them?

Just curious, why do you want metal? I would think that the weight alone would cause it to rip itself out of your fender and A-pillar...

For the record, I like the new design much better, especially since you no longer have to drill TWO big holes in your sheet metal. And it looks more like the old 70 and 80 Series snorkels. Almost traditional, one could say! ;)

So they don't look like the exhaust end of a fast food restaurant.

Sheesh ... haven't you seen "The Graduate". Plastic is all the rage now.

I'm going to take that as a no

I think for now, we just don't know, have not heard back from anyone doing an install on a US 100.
It looks close, possible interference with mast above fender, at least duct does not run through middle of motor like old style. Since duct is plastic if there is interference might be able to mold a relief area with some heat or cut and glue up something.

Yeah I've though of that, but it would suck to have to do all that.

We had to do that on the original 80 Series snorkels. Not too big of a deal.

Slee's web site show Safari Snorkels Part#:ARB1017 - $400.00
Fits 1998+ Land Cruiser
Requires removal of automatic antenna

Is this the final answer and if so what are the options on the antenna?

I need to know what Im in for before I order.

that's probably a holdover weblisting from the old one that required it. I think you're just gonna have to be our g.pig!

Safari Snorkel?

I've been wanting a snorkel for quiet some time... I upgraded my intake to the K&N -FIPK and I threw out my stock intake filter box.

If I order from Slee the new design does it come with a new intake box or did I need my stock box?

Does anyone have pictures of what comes in a 100 series snorkel kit?

- Thanks

In the first post of this thread has link to install guide for new design. Looks like you need to find an intake box. Maybe someone will trade your K&N for one.
