i put the engine in my truck today it will not move and when i push the clutch pedal it makes a scraping noise. so i was wondering while i was rushing to get this thing together could i have put the clutch disc in backwards and would this cause my problem? :whoops:the engine sounds good it purrs like a kitten.

yeah i suppose you can. one side of the spring load pack is raised.

i never did it wrong.

but thinkin about how that works, even if it was in wrong, seems like it would move.
you got the throw out bearing on the fork right?

t case is in gear right?

this was only a clutch job, or what? what else you do?

Yes, it will go in backwards, and yes it will make a nasty noise when you try to use it. I've never done it, but a friend has and I remember him telling me the result. The FSM has a nice picture that shows the proper orientation.

Absolutely, and I hate to admit BTDT. Didn't make any noise. Just didn't work.

I am having same problem with mine...did motor swap..I do not think the mechanic put the disk in backwards..So perhaps it is the slave/?...Is that difficult? to swap out?

Not hard to swap slaves, you will have to bleed the clutch afterwards though. Just remove the hydraulic line before you loosen the slave from the trans.... :D

And invest in a flare nut wrench. A box wrench will booger the fittings.
