Is it me, or do some paint colors on 60s just do not look right?

FWIW, I find Spring Green OK for a 40, not OK for 60 series.

Like I said to each their own. No ones tastes are the same. I like the green for the vintage 40s. For a 60... not sure, but I would still give props to the person for pulling the trigger and not falling into the conformity line.

The very first Land Cruiser I ever owned was a blue 1983 BJ42 (I lived in Canada). I would not have picked any other color.
I then owned a red '82BJ42 and much later a FJcruiser in black (never black again)
back to a Silver FJ60. I liked the color, but silver is silver.. Kind of like black or white....vehicle just does not feel right.

I hunted down a FJ60 in Blue again 1986 this time. Ya the Tan is cool and looks great. Dark grey looks good as well.

The only stock colour I don't really like is the dark royal type blue on the earlier 60 series.

I love that entire cruiser but I just bought a gray one and know it would cost $10k to paint it a new color.

My favourite colour is whatever matches the environment it will be in so it disappears. So for me that will be camo green. The paint is already a respray of poor quality so a rattle can job will only be an improvement. And after I fix any body rust I'll then finish it off with deep maroon faux rust painted around the wheel wells and other prone areas -- just to dissuade potential thieves.

Of course if you have nice original paint -- that is the best, whatever colour it is.

Hi all - funny thing - car colors! I have had 2 HJ45 truck in freeborn red and was looking to find a HJ61. Guess what! It all ended with a freeborn red and decal and I starting to find it very appealing
