I bought this Bumper from MetalTech last month and finally got around to the install. We were already in Salem, OR so I ran up to Newburg and loaded up a bumper and sliders. John Love was great, showed me around the place and took all my money, not that much actually. Below is a short video I put together of the install.

What is the weight on this bumper? Having a hard time finding it. Is it lighter than the ARB?

I'm curious if anyone else has gone to the trouble of making a shim to go between the chassis rail and the chassis bracket? I'm installing mine now and even 5 years later there is the same gap. I'm frankly quite surprised and disappointed they haven't changed the spacer design in all these years. Such a simple design update to add an extra 1/4" to the spacer when it is fabbed. Seems like a no brainer. As it is it's reliant on the recovery point bolts pulling the chassis bracket holding all the bumper and winch weight up to the chassis.

Given all the Ironman bumpers out there I'm curious if others have gone to the effort of making a custom spacer or just skipped it. I'm guessing most people skip it? Any negative effects noticed without it?

If any Ironman reps read this, can you explain the reason for the spacer not taking up all the space? If it's not by design please consider tweaking the spacer as a product improvement.
