Instrument cluster/ how to remove bulbs from sockets

83 FJ40, want to upgrade to LEDs. Can I remove old bulbs from existing sockets or do I need new sockets. Can't get the bulbs out. Thanks Jim

Are you trying to remove the bulb holders with the cluster in place? Turn the bulb holder counter clockwise a quarter turn to remove. If you try to remove the cluster, disconnect the battery first so you don’t create problems.

Part number for the socket is 83101-20040. Bulb is 99132-12034. Looks like both are still available.

The bulbe should pull straight out from the black plastic socket. Something to protect you fingers and pull glass bulb straight out.

B4 you remove the cluster, be sure you disconnect the batt.
