Finally got mine installed on the LC200. Nice upgrade that I would try to do another one for my Sequoia. Would love to install using the oem bracket and oem mounting point, but the relay mounting area is too small for the oem bracket. End up using double sided tape and tape it on a flat surface and zip tied the wiring to secure the new Diode Dynamic Relay.
On the OEM and Diode Dynamics relay you can remove and swap the top covers. Once you put the OEM cover back on the DD relay it will mount back in the OEM spot.
I just installed mine a couple days ago by swapping the covers.
For those who need/want the additional instructions to swap the SmartTap Diode into the original Toyota relay:
Use a 10mm to remove the nut holding the relay.

Use a small screw driver to release the front and rear tabs.
Here's a picture of the complete relay board. As you can see the SmartTap has a lot more circuitry.

There's only one way to put the housing back on.
It won't fit correctly backwards.
Closed everything up, reconnected batter and tested success. Vehicle now blinks 4x (adjustable setting) when tapping the turn signal.
Next step for me is to replace the turn signal with LEDs in the original housing.

Did mine today. Lower and upper kick panels to see it. Not much clearance and left some skin and hand got stuck a couple times. It’s almost a blind install to just unplug the old relay. A headlamp would have helped a lot. Left the old relay in place and ziptied the new one out of the way. Cool upgrade. Need to find a parade where I can use the strobe.
I replaced the flasher in my 2013. Very easy. The cable attached to the stock flasher was easy to reach going in from the left the bracket shown in the third picture.

I also did the install yesterday and followed the pointers above to swap relay covers - worked out great! I also installed the Diode Dynamics LED's in the front signals. A few thoughts post install:
Overall happy to have the touch to signal capabality again!
- Dash panel removal was very easy - just be gentle and pull evenly
- Why don't our front seats travel back any further!? A few more inches of travel would have made this much easier!
- The front driver side LED install was a bit of a pain until I realized the fill neck for the wiper fluid is a slip fit and can be pulled or rotated out of the way.
- This isn't a "hard" install...just a little tedious
Overall happy to have the touch to signal capabality again!
Has anyone had their flasher fail ? The flasher works but the three flash tap feature stopped. I've only had it installed six months and this is not a daily driver.
mine stopped working once but it was after a recall service. I'm not sure what happened but I reprogrammed it and it works just fine. Try reprogramming it and my guess is it will work.
How do you reprogram the flasher?

Will this thing allow you to increase volume of the sound of the turn signals?
I used to be annoyed by hearing the sound of my blinkers, but now my LC's are so quiet I don't even know they're on...or maybe I'm just getting old...ha.

Nope. Sound is a little different, but no louder.
Anyone find a solution for a 2020?

Does anyone know whether the SmartTap function works while towing a trailer?
I use my '13 LC as a tow vehicle occasionally and it would help to know if this works before placing an order for the flasher module from Diode Dynamics.

Yes it works on a towed trailer.
