I understand the concept but seems to be a euro thing. Might go over better in the US as a 👋 icon since it is intended to be used as a courtesy tone.

For Sydney sales, they'll need to swap it out with a :flipoff2: or 🤬.
People go hella Karen in traffic over hear and you get blasted with horns and ranted at for the slightest inconvenience to another driver.

I reckon it's partly because no one fears getting shot at in traffic in Australia. ( the hidden downside of gun laws! 🤪)

Nice looking vehicle! Did you purchase through the ATL dealership? Wait time? Initial impression? Did you have to add additional driveway for a parking spot?
Picked it up in ATL
Placed a deposit with INEOS in 2021
The new concrete is coincidence. Putting a laundry room addition on the back of the house.

Impressions:
VERY solid. More NVH than a new 200, but still pretty refined. Plenty of power. Large turning circle and lots of steering wheel turns lock to lock.
So far, pretty impressed.

I just watched that.

That BMW engine is solid. I know nothing about the tranny. Simpler electrical system would be appreciated. Canbus makes me squeamish.

I also hate not having a standard transmission option.
The ZF-8 speed transmission is VERY reliable. It is used in a ton of cars with no major issues.

Frustrating that, as always, there’s no diesel option in NA. The diesel got the heavier duty ZF as well.

Everyone wanted a simpler electrical system. No one more so than the owner. Just no way around it with modern regulations.

Sure there is. It just costs time and or money. Take this vehicle as an example. Buy one, strip the engine and tranny out, shove in what I want, then wade through the electronics.

Then ask the question with the time and money spent, am I better served taking that time and money and dumping it into something else? If I pump $80-100k plus time into an 80 series, is that a better option?

Or at least that's the thought process in wrestling with. 😆

Shop for a good one as a starting point, so you're not polishing a turd, you could build one NICE 80 with $80-100k!

That's going with the assumption that the 80 didn't roll off the assembly line a turd.

Just because it doesn't stink as much as the other sh1t in the pile, doesn't mean it isn't a turd. 😆

Well, start with whatever flavour of turd suits your tastes :meh:

You could build a pretty nice overlander with 80-100k using a Jeep as a base if you choose too :flipoff2:

I saw my first Ineos the other day. What great looking 4x4.
I would rather sink my money into an Ineos than build a $100000 dream mobile
The Grenadier would get the resale value
