Now where was I before I was so rudely interrupted?
Life got in the way, but I'm back.
Strange you should bump me today, as I've just started work again for the first time since beginning of December.
While I was giving my wrist a rest, everything seemed to hit at once. Burst geyser, additional watering points to put in due to the drought, the monkey's tore the screens off the verandha, everyday a problem with the bloody game drive Land Rovers (I hate the rubbish) and to crown it all, a whole batch of preparation for a long-running law suit.
Worst of all the heat has been unbearable and no rain this season so far. I don't know what the animals are eating out there. Scary stuff. If we don't get good rain next month the dry winter is going to be a massacre.
Temps remain at 100+. Man and beast will do anything to keep cool.
We passed this guy on a game drive. He was just sitting in one of the few remaining puddles of water. Hours later when we came back he was still sitting there. He must have really been feeling the heat.
Back to the LC. The last thing I did was to prep the alternator/vacuum pump to spray. Pulled that out this morning and found all the masking tape has gone all gooey and messy. I've pulled it off and am in the process of cleaning all the goo off with acetone. Hopefully by day's end it will be all nicely painted.
Most of my stuff is now covered in a thick layer of dust so I've got a major clean-up staring me in the face before I'll really be able to get going again.
I was in Nelspruit last week and got to see some of the upholstery. It looks really great, all the canvas work is done and we just had to decide on the colour for the leather parts. Money well spent.
Oh, a happy and prosperous 2016 to all.
