100 has same part No chassis and A arms as AHC lexus, so strong enough to support vehicle weight.

A diff drop from christo with those coil overs would work better.

As for comparing an OME LTR to a King or Fox bypass adjustable shock, and changing the pressure to change valving, there is no comparison, and the LTR is just a generic shock with a cannister welded on, nothing flash.

Come on! No comment on the above Coilover pic?

What would you like to hear? :flipoff2:

Have looked at similar here, and have afew pics of armor plated versions running coil overs, the length, or lack of it in a 100 front is the issue reallyto fit anything, along woth the top A arm hitting it at full droop.

To do the 100 properly, it really needs a front top a arm, have looked at CNC machining an alloy one with a good quality uniball mounted horizontal, and you would need to strengthen the arm for off road, where it meets the chassis, around the bushes.

If you have $cash$ in hand...

...you can have anything you want:D

yeah .. but there always will be the LC120 Chassis

every thing available for it from 8+ inch travel kit to bolt-on .. with the short base = lighter weight .. the LC120 would out run the LC100 in every terrine ..

so don't spend your hard earned money on building something from scratch .. there is to much time and headache into it ..

2dr prado is what im talking about :D

What happened to you Grab? The 120 doesn't have a chance in "all types" of terrain compared to the 100. The 120 has all it's crap hangin' way down underneath. The driver's side gas tank is so low they get mangled the first trip out. In Arizona the things suck in comparision. I already have three friends with mangled undersides and two with now 15 gallon gas tanks. Can you say "hung up?"

120>100 stock vs stock

120>100 modded vs modded

don't no about there (USA) but the 120 (prado) is doing amazing thing for a stock here in UAE .. you easly can say the best 4x4 .. with the 3.5 engine and 280hp ..

think of modded one what can do .. with any long-travel suspension ( 4lift ) and locked diffs .. it gando a great job in any terrain ..

..

are you talking about these things

here in UAE you ca have a skimmed 120 :D .. without any of useless things

the 120 has the weight advantage :)

Nope. Not the body panels. The underside...the guts. The 120 is a completely different bird. The guts (frame, driveline, gas tank, etc) all hang low. They're strap-mobiles out here.

I'm familiar with the 4Wheeler Mag project. They were successful, though they cut the hell out of all the sheet metal. Do that to a 100 and 37's go on.

I'm sure the GX can sqeeze in a place here and there. Sometimes the lesser weight might also help. To say though it bests a 100 all over is just wacked. Sorry. :D

I emailed 4Wheeler about Trailex (the GX project). I offered to run my 100 side-by-side in Moab. The project was at end-of-life and the GX went back. It was a no go. Oh, and 4Wheeler even destroyed the gas tank on the GX.

ok .. I hear what you saying

but if you had a limited budget to mod .. between 100 vs 120 .. how do you imagen the end result ??

the 100 passed 10 years in productaion but the aftermarket part for 120 is so huge (thanxs to the USA virgin of 120 .. FJ, Tacoma etc.) every thing what we dream for the 100 is there for the 120 ..

sample:

Lift: 4"
Wheel Travel: 13"

http://www.chaosfab.com/tacomalong_05.html

we can't even get a true 3inch lift from the 100 ..

..

that kit and triple locked 120 << wet dream :flipoff2:

With minimum mods, a "limited budget" the 100 has even more advantage!

With springs, shocks, and T-bars you have 2.75" front and 3" rear lift. The underpinnings on a 3-inch lifted 100 are higher up than a 4+ lifted GX especially on the driver's side.

You have 7.5" front wheel travel (GX has 7.88)
You have over 16" rear wheel travel (articulation)(N74L)

You can fit 35's on the 100 with this simple lift.
You cannot fit 35's on a GX with a simple lift. More work and therefore $$$s are needed.

Pros and cons to both. I'd never settle for a GX/Runner/Prado/FJ Cruiser after wheeling/owning a 100. The 100's not always the best, nor a 120, nor an 80. :)

(in my situation) For the same amount of money i spent on 100 .. i will get more with 120 ..

that's why im boomed with the 100 .. i found out it will be cheaper for me to do what i want with the 120 ..

LS1<Manually Shifted 4L80<Atlas 4<long-travel<triple locked

- you can't have Atlas TC with the 100 non-centered rear diff- (ok with 120)

- you can't have a long travel suspension without spending too much (maybe half or more of what you spent)

that what all i've got .. :)

Nolen that photo is at full droop so you would probably want to run a limiting strap. The problem is that the joints are the limiting factor, so without widening the track and adding different front axles you aren't going to see much improvement. I do prefer coilovers to torsion bars though for their placement and ride quality.

grab, your on the right track, the 120 would be much easier for you to modify to suit your particular application and would leave the 100 far behind.

Supercharge the v6, or turbo it, even better.

The 120 is same as new FJ pretty much in chassis and running gear.

whats up with grab .. it EL_3grab or scorpion in English :D

you feel me ..

but i've already ordered some parts for my 100

diff-down, T-Barz and springs, rear Diff-lock, sway-bar, pan road, and bump stop lower kit ..

Maybe going LOW with 100 (down-kit with Garrett T35RS :D )

Ahhh, THAT kind of money. Vehicle cost plus mods. Gotcha. Sure, that makes sense. In the sand the 120 should be sweet. In AZ...the stuff we do....they're the high-center kings of the land. They're also much lighter-duty in build quality.
