Does anybody know how to identify the build date of an H151f transmission? I have one that I want to rebuild, but I don't know which syncro rings to get. I can't see a serial number or any markings anywhere on my transmission, but I will admit it is a bit dirty at the moment...

Example:
33039-60011 (08/1992 - 07/1996)
33039-60020 (08/1996 - 12/1997)

Plan B would be to disassemble it and look at the rings, but I still don't know how to tell which is which. Anyway I would prefer to have the parts on hand before disassembly if possible!

There's 3 styles for sure of those transmissions...to tell between the two later styles I believe you have to open it up. I was looking at the part numbers and comparing what changed and dumping the part numbers into google to see if they physically look different. There's a few hubs in there that look different between the two later styles which would be a solid identifier. I've also heard you cant mix synchros, you have to get the right ones.

my curiosity .. is there a Toyota repair book for those manual trannys are there is for the auto .?

Sounds like I have to take it apart... guess I will wait for some good weather because once it's out I'm stuck commuting on my motorbike until it's back together!
