Micro-amps. One millionth of an amp. Seriously.

microamp - Wiktionary

Do NOT put that in your Cruiser! You will let the smoke out!

yup, it says Full scale = 500 microamps. Still not much, though. Wonder why UC would use one of those.
Yes, smoke will come out if you bring it only within touching distance of a cruiser... :)

Hey, it has a 20K Ohm resistor on it.

V=IR
12=I(20,000)
12/20,000=I=.0006Amps

Did I remember Ohm's Law correctly?

If I did, then your LC will not let the smoke out.

Which means...?

That's it.

V=IR
12=I(20,000)
12/20,000=I=.0006Amps

Did I remember Ohm's Law correctly?

If I did, then your LC will not let the smoke out.

But, it looks like the resistor is wired in parallel, which means we also need to know the resistance of the meter coil. This is likely a much lower resistance, which would lower the entire circuit resistance.

Do any of you have any use for such a meter?

it is servings its purpose...cool find.

The face is small, about 1.5" square, but heavier than I would have expected. Very solid feeling, not like most modern plastic meters.
