I am also debating on this same lift...Following the thread for any additional info. Thanks!!!

Things I have added to the icon kit supplied:
Manafre 2 inch drop brackets, in addition to the caster bushings supplied
Ironman front panhards
Tatton front dc driveshaft
Another Set of 10mm trim packer on top of the ones supplied by icon
Delta rear panhard bracket
Oem extended brake line
Wits end parking brake block

As consequences of the lift:
35 inch tire, 33s looked small
4.88 gears because of the 35s
AOE front bumper and 10k superwinch to weigh down the front, to regain some stinkbug look.

I still have a rear driveline “grrr” that i need to address.

Some may argue about the logic but I haven’t planned any of these mods prior to installing the lift. I simply addressed issues as it arises. The “as consequences of the lift” part may be a bit too far.lol.

My recommendation is either go with the slinky kit or get the more complete kit offered by delta (as opposed to the icon kit).

I was under the impression the (nonslinky) icon 2.5 3 inch lift was designed with a winch bumper up front and few hundred pounds in rear? Would it be safe to assume a loaded 80 with winch bumper, sliders, roof rack maybe 200lbs of junk would net a 2 1/2 inch lift with the Icon 2.5 shocks 3inch lift kit. I think I've read every possible thread in the 80s section twice

If it helps, the lift measurements I have on my own truck with the Stage4 slinky kit measured from the center of hub to bottom edge of fender flares are:
Left Front: 24"
Left Rear: 24.25"
Right Rear: 24.5"
Right Front: 24"
I would say my truck is on the heavy side so those numbers are probably close to what you could expect when your truck is packed for a trip.

Adam, do I recall correctly that these numbers include 1" body lift?

We are ARB dealers and have used OME standard, BP51 and now ICON stage 3 on our 80s.
I have the stage 3 set with springs and struts on my rig. They ride on the street better than any setup Ive tried. The only issue I had and I voiced the concern to ICON was the rear spring will not handle a rear bar with tire carrier without sagging about 2". I tried a 1" whiteline spacer on the back but the ICON spring is too wide to hold the pad properly. I had to move to an OME rear 3" heavy to get a level stance with a nice rake. The front spring does fine with a front ARB bar. The rig was just finished and I haven't wheeled it as of yet.
Pic is with Icon front springs and rear OME heavy 3". BFG KM3 35x12.50x17

Pretty sure that's the heaviest rear bumper made for the 80. For comparison, I have ~1" additional lift in the rear at my current weight on Icon's 3".

And do you have a rear bumper/tire carrier? How does it look when loaded down in the cargo area with the extra 1" in the rear?

Hey - Yeah, pic here kinda shows ~1" rake. Was weight testing with a full 150L replacement main, 40L of water, tools, kitchen, RTT, gear for a week and a 255 spare below deck (mostly carry plug kit only)
Slowly fab'ing a DOM rear ~ 70 lbs, not 270

those numbers are without the body lift

Oh?... your numbers are pretty much spot on for a 4" lift, but your Slinky springs are 75mm(3").
And your truck is fairly heavily equipped, too, so you shouldn't really be "riding high" on the springs.
How does that happen?

I think the "stock" height measurement varies so I wouldn't overthink those numbers. Came out to a near dead-on 3" height increase from what the stock height was on my rig.

Still hoping this happens one day 🤞
Ya same. Seems unlikely though. The US spring manufacturers contacted pre and post covid were not terribly helpful, and quantities required for initial order are high.

One spring manufacturer wanted to provide a sample that had 12” longer free height than an icon spring, to get 1” more lift with 200 lbs more capacity. Was not impressed.

I am running Slinky HD springs and Dobinson IMS 2.5. about 3.5" of lift, 5600 lbs, 37s... It is an awesome combo coming from Icon Stage 1.
