I looked at the new 200 today.

dtt255...don't let these wackjobs get you sucked in! The 80 fellas did the same thing to me in 2001 and I proved them all wrong. IGNORE!

Yeah, proven to a few of his sycophants (who seem to consist of his wife and a couple of his wheeling buddies in Arizona). Read some of the stuff on the 100 or 80 forums sometime, then make your own decision. There's a reason of all the thousands of people on MUD, Shotts is the only one with his own smiley:

:shotts:

BTW, dtt255, there is some good information and there are some very informed people on this forum who will give you the STRAIGHT SCOOP (Shotts is nowhere near to being one of these). Read and learn before putting them down. One example is Spressoman, whom you denigrated in this thread. Until you know where he's been with his truck, I think you might want to keep you mouth (or hands) shut and your eyes open. He knows of what he speaks. And he's not the only one.

And my apologies for coming late to this thread...

About Shotts, I am not getting into this discussion. It seems that everyone has their own reasons for liking and disliking each other.

He has had some very good comments for me and I appriciate that. Some people may not agree, but there seems to be a history somewhere I have not been and don't want to go.

Now about me keeping my hands (or Mouth) shut. How the hell am I supposed to learn anything by doing that? All I have done is asked questions, and answered ones that were asked of me.

Just because I DISAGREED with someone does not mean that I DENIGRATED someone.

I don't have a single problem with someone not agreeing with me (I have been married for 13 years...so I am used to it!) What I do have an issue with, is when all someone has to say to me is:

"I don't care what is under the hood...it just looks ugly"

Sorry but I expect people who have a few thousand posts to have a little bit more input than that. So maybe you can appriciate the frustration.

I have had many discussions on here with people I outwardly do not agree with....but with mutual respect we have all said...we have a difference of opinion, and moved on from there.

But I appriciate your advice. Maybe before you 'go off' on a new person who has done nothing but ask questions (although some of them are pretty newbie'ish) you should read ALL the threads where I posted and see if I am really as closed minded as you think I am.

Just some friendly advice for you...from a newbie :flipoff2:

 It's funny how this is a 200 tech section and all we have is people coming in the 200 section, a section for technical discussions not for opinions on what they think it looks like, to come and flame people for their purchase of a 200 because its no longer (by the haters books) a LandCruiser.

In my opinion, if nobody has any helpful information that benefits the 200 owners, then I suggest you guys keep your bad comments to yourselves and go unleash it in the rants section of this forum. Flaming the new LC200 isn't going to make it suck in its head and tailights and sprout a solid front axle.

And ??

Correct me if I'm wrong but, you don't even own a Land Cruiser, what can you possibly contribute to the discussion ?? You, of all people should stay out of and certainly not post anything in these LC forums.. There are seperate forums for NON LC's...

I need some very detailed technical instructions on how to remove both the running boards AND the third row seats on a 200. ;)

Also, as far as dclee's last post is concerned...... " ditto "

I think shotts commentary is taken by all but a very few with very little credence..

Dtt, If you are going to be listening to anyone on these threads Cruiserdan gets my vote. He speaks with both knowledge and is quite unbiased in his comments. His assessment of the new 200 on another thread speaks volumes, IMO

Dtt, as Mark Twain once said..

"It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."

While you do own a LC presently you should be very careful with your comments aimed at long time LC owners. We are the ones who have aided in creating the LC following here in the states. And yes, my 25 yrs of LC ownership does entitle me to certain opinions that YOU have no creditable voice in !!

yoooo why cant everybody get along!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hey dtt you are the first with the new 200 so people might just be jealous. also you have to remeber alot of the aftermarket people just got their trucks also it will be some time to get upgrades. Hey you have a new truck that has been designed by very good people and can probably go places (stock) we would never think of going. I myself cant wait till the lx come in because i want to see it in person before i jump at the lc

I'm waiting (very imaptiently) to see the LX before I make any purchase decisions as well.. Seeing the the new Sequoia has kind of thrown a wrench into what I was initially choosing between...

As far as everyone getting along....I haven't seen too many families where everyone gets along perfectly !! The family that fights together, stays together !!

yes yes they say you can pick your friends but not your family hey have you seen the seqoia in person from the vid i seen i did not like it. also dont like the dash interior i like the color combo they showed. also do you know anything abouth the new seq? the old one was not very off road ready out of the box (susp exposed etc the lc has things tucked up and out of the way) i would love the extra size)

Actually here's where your wrong. I've Owned a LX470 and Im in the market for another 100 and possibly a 200. And since all I talk about is technical stuff and you guys talk about bashing its looks, i'm more of a benefit to this side of the tech than you are. At least I'm striving to post any possible information on after market upgrades and other beneficial information. Unlike your B/S posts bashing our first member with a 200 and bashing Shottz and other BS posts about its bulging headlights and bragging rights about a benz, what authority do you have directing traffic?

My unsolicited opinion on this is: right message, wrong messenger. You are right, but your numerous worthless and chatty posts in the 200 "tech" section that I have seen don't help your cause. If you practice what you preach, and minimize the chat, people may take what you are saying a little more seriously.

All I have seen thus far are pics on the web. I actually do like the interior ! My first opinion about the exterior was definitely more positive than the feelling I got from the first pic I saw of the 200! As with you, I never gave the previous Seq a second look. Its underpinnings are Tundra based which does not bother me one bit. Also, the IRS isn't a biggie for me. I, like the majority of LC owners (even if you won't admit it) spend 99% of the time on road where IRS if ample. If I lived or worked in an environment where the solid rear axle of the LC was important, then the LC would be a better choice . It is due to be out in December I believe. It will be interesting to drive a 200 and Seq back to back. The price savings the Seq will have vs. the LC might be just too difficult to pass up...Hard to say until it hits showrooms though.

Hey...maybe I missed the pic post up...but I thought somebody here that that was the first twundy buyer to post up on MUD was going to post up some REAL pics of the underbelly of his twundy. I wanna see em!

Then again you are right since all my chatting is replys to other ppls BS posts. But how many "looks like a highlander" posts do we really need?

Do you presently own a LC? Yes or no ?

That's all we can comment on until the guy that actually owns the twundy posts up some underbelly pics! I'd love to see some detailed pics of the front drive and suspension system along with rear diff and suspension pics.

Let's get to the mechanics of this rig and off the body comments. Sheesh...I'd do it myself but I don't own/have a twundy to dissect .

Sorry, but that is not true. There is a post about somebody's first mods to his cruiser, and then you and he go back and forth for like ten posts talking about nothing.
