First-time poster here. Sorry I don't have pictures of my vehicles, but I own a 2003 4th gen 4Runner (lightly modded with custom sliders and 32 inch BFG's), and the wife's vehicle is a 2006 Sequoia. The Seq is OK, but we have some rough ranch property in West Texas, and now that I have 3 kids who are becoming old enough to get outdoors, I need something with a 3rd row that is a lot more serious off-road.
2 questions (both of these features would be used to sell the wife on a 200 LC, instead of the new Sequoia which she has said she wants):
1. Will the 200 have the hieght-adjustable suspension as an option? We have ridden in some LX's, and that's a nice feature when your wife is 5ft 3.
2. Will there be a 2nd row captains option in the 200?
I think the answer to both of these questions is no, but I haven't looked hard enough to confirm. Thanks in advance!
Then I suggest you get a Highlander or some other pretend SUV (UZJ100, GL450, X5).

I'd still trade dtt255 even up for my FJ60 though.![]()
Man, the 200 section is BRUTAL. I say, give them a chance. You must admit the interior is nice. Remember how ugly we all thought the 100 was when it came out and now it looks normal.
Here is a bold prediction: Given the huge amount they cost, and the vast amount of fuel they burn, it will be a long time before a normal individual does a hardcore 200 series.
They do look sort of like oversize Highlanders.I'd still trade dtt255 even up for my FJ60 though.

We know you are a 100-hater Drew. Nothing newer than an 80 is as capable which has been proven as BULL. Rod's taken the 100 to an even higher level with his Roklimo-clone. He does not fear brush and has ran obstacles in his 100 with ease whereas 80-owners were near rolling. You can live in denial if you choose. If you ever can afford a new 100 (no dig) and outfit it ($76K for mine) you would see the light.
Well, you have me wrong then! No hate for the 100. There is a sweet 2003 (with 46K) for sale around the corner that I've been eying. I just like baiting you , Shotts.
No new Cruisers for me, I have one kid in college and another starting in a year an a half. It's roughly equivalent to buying a new 200 every year for 6 years.I'll be lucky to pay my light bill.
As for the 200, I'll bet it's a sweet ride, but unless I won the lotto, I can't see risking it off the pavement, even if it can go there.

That is what I am thinking also. Obviously black powder coated.
He says he doesn't know if he will want to do bolt on or weld until he sees it. Either one will be fine I believe.
Weld-on will be 100x easier to make than bolt-on.
couple thoughts-
-if it's bolt-on, do a U-bolt that clamps around the frame rails. I think it's better than threading into the frame rail.
-if it's weld-on, make sure they use plenty of scab plating and triangulation to really support the weld at the frame.
I think the KDSS stuff runs the drivers side, so there may be more difficulty there but are the rails relatively clean of tubing/wiring/etc?
Coming from driving my lifted/mudded 80 it drove like a dream. Fast off the line and not a whole lot of body roll in the corners. Swallowed large bumps through a construction zone with ease. I thought the interior was plush, comfortable and feature rich. Not that I got to use it, but the crawl feature with three speed settings seemed really slick - a nice tribute back to the off road crowd and a nod to the old hand throttles on cruisers of the past. My qualm is the 72,000 smackers they want for it, and the fuel expense.
You taken off those running boards yet ?? If so post some pics...

Only resemblance I see is that they both have 4 tires and rims.

Looks LandCruiser to me.
