Beyond nice find Dave!!!!! Wonder what manu date it is? Mine is 10/78

DSB345,

Now that is a find indeed. Being the original owner of a '78 in CA, I fought the good fight regarding the smog laws and eventual expansion of the areas where the inspections were required. The Downey sticker brings back the chills. Finally gave up and installed an updated SBC. I found the exterior color change interesting. What is your thinking in this regards? Back to red, leave it as is, complete interior and exterior change?

Previous owner didn't like Freeborn Red. I will probably leave it alone for a while. I just want to get out and drive around. I'll worry about the paint down the road. Smog is always fun

(1) You've already been told about the bezel.
(2) I hate the tail pipe hanging "below" the skid plate.
(3) Sure would like to see my Downey fuel cell replacing the G.I. can hanging off the back.
(4) I wouldn't run the hot air riser to the air cleaner until smog inspection day. The cooler the air the more h.p. produced.
(5) If you do re-paint, I can still provide a new Downey smog decal for the Header.

Thank you for your advise. I figure I will have work to do in it but it was priced perfect and gave me room to improve it without going into the hole. I thought you'd like to see a rig still running with your header.

You didn't say what your wife thinks of it.

Is it gonna fit in the garage if you lift it?

She actually likes this one. I think it helps when they are together not torn apart. But, no she's not excited about it. :D garage space is now at a premium :meh:

They look alot better when they arnt torn apart. Will the project fit East West across the front of the Italian toy and driver 40? Great find btw.

You got issues bro, nice sweet 40 issues.
Congrats.
