Can anybody guess what I’m doing?

Torquing the crank bolt to 309 foot pounds.

Close, just making sure my valve cover bolts are at the right torque spec 😆

But yes, oil pump cover gasket and front main seal then crank bolt...

Turned out one of the snow cat mechanics had a 600ftlb torque wrench at home

Anyone know the setup time on this stuff... it’s says 4 hours but it’s been a good 2 days and still wet

Pretty much. Or until it gets wiped or washed off.

Little more... getting close!

Started this job, screws stripped out even after using the proper JIS bits... stopped this job and reassembled. I know it was done in 2016 by Toyota I have the receipts, I just wanted to go over it cause why not I have the tools and time at the moment... but this will be for another day now as I’ll need to weld nuts on the screws...

All cooling hoses done now as well as my little pcv catch can setup

Ok so she’s running.

I had it going at first and there was a bunch of smoke from the engine bay, this I’m blameing on propane heating and the fact there was so much condensation on everything in the engine.

Engine seemed to be getting quite hot, the head and valve cover were hot to the touch so I shut it down and evaluated

I pulled the themostate went inside and boiled some water, frig it’s opening around 195 Fahrenheit, grab the old gates themostate and it’s opening around 190... so I ditch those and run it without,

When running without a themostate the block and head heat (read off digital temp gun) dropped, sticking around 70-50

But now my temp gauge isn’t working inside the truck but my obd2 reader is still fluctuating and staying around 115-118 engine temp while running at idle for around 5 mins...

Do I have any concerns? It seems like it’s running hot possibly but I’m just not sure...

If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate greatly!

When temp gun is held closer the head is reading around 85-100c on the exhaust side..

Ditch those plastic elbows. They will fail.

Yes, ventilation.

My worry is why isn’t the temp gauge working anymore? Does this mean my obd2 readout is incorrect aswell...

Also what’s up with these themostats opening way above the temp they say they will...

The gauge sensor could be an issue.

There are two temp sensors. One for the gauge and one for EFI. The EFI sensor is the one that feeds the OBD
