did you cure your driveshaft concerns?

Rear is OK, front still needs lengthening at a driveline shop and I need to massage the cross member.

The first sign that Tom's Cruiser has been at Robb's a long time? It's been functioning as his greenhouse! :)

just an idea, what if you drop the crossmember about 2" with spacers and install spacers above the crossmember to keep the tranny in it's original location. this should give you enough clearence for the drivesahaft, no?
cheers

Actually a machined spacer would give me the clearance I need without dropping the tranny.

If I dropped the cross memeber, the engine would tilt back and make the front drive line angle more sevre, I think?

rob, i think you misunderstand what i was trying to say... someitmes it is hard to describe in words...
drop the crossmember but what ever thcikness of spacer you use you need to use for the tranny as well to keep the tranny level.
my concern is that with the space you are making the angle on the driveshaft even worse...
clear as mud?

I have the same issue, in my TLC with SReversal, OME 2.5", SO to clear MTR 37" with my 2H engine in front ..

as you see with the CV some washers, and cuting the edge of the cross member.

Thanks for the advice, sounds like Wayne is onto something with lowering the t-case a couple inches.

Black mirrors, since this thing will have no chrome.

Installed the steering box, my last employee had dissasembled it and drilled 1/4 inch instead of 1/4NPT, so we dissassembled and redrilled and tapped the box.

Up side to the dissasembly was the original guy had not clue how to reassembled, (although he assured me he knew what he was doing), and put all the bearings in loose. So in short no worky.

We have it back together and working great, cutting and fitting the hoses and fittings, putting a rebuild kit into the steering box while its apart.

Wiring 95% done
Fuel lines and electric pusher pump done
Brake lines done

Pics later today, when I find my camera.

Power steering drill and tapped.

Fan contacts lower rad hose, two possible fixes could be to raise the front of the engine via mounts or pull rad and have drop moved over to the passenger side more.

Second and easiest fix is to run a Ford Taurus Fan, which I have heard work extremely well.

Rob are you talking about an electric fan?

Or is the Taurus just a different fan set up?

Last fan we used was a kit, it was a little spendy at 420.00, but very easy to install.

I have been told the Ford Taurus fans are the fest option,

Rob

Need some fan ideas, after I got off the phone with the wrecker I was convinced the Taurus fan is pretty weak.

He claimed he get many calls for that fan, they tend to wear out quickly???

Ideas?????

Thanks
Rob

The Taurus fans you keep hearing about are two-speed electric fans. They flow way more air than a Flex-a-Lite.

They're a really popular mod on buggies, so go search on pirate4x4.com's Land Cruiser forum for more information than you ever wanted. :)

Hey PW, did you see some of those flex-a-lites flow 5500cfm????

That's power baby...
