MK VIII will move 4200-4500cfm depending on the year and you can get one at the wrecker. 3.8l Taurus fans are the fan of choice for off road rigs around here because they move 2500 cfm and cost $14.95 a the pick n pull.

I doubt the wreckers are selling many replacements. I'll bet most are going into projects. They are the hot ticket for hot rods, mustangs, and wheelers

Radd Cruisers,

Did you ever come up with a t'case disk parking brake? You talked about a while back.

I don't know what rad you ended up using, but I used the original 2H rad duw to time and money constraints, and ened up cutting and turning the bottom port outward to clear the fan. Then i made a shroud to slip in between just in case. An electric fan would be pretty baller though. I may go this route later in the game, i'd be curious to see what you come up with.

I could not find a disc and caliper to work with, we ordered the tail shaft and brake mount from Steve MAF.

Biggest compaint with the disc was the very good possibility the output seal would leak eventually contaminating the brake pads.

I still would like to make one if I could come up with the parts.

Rob; What's the voltage / model # of the cordless Hitachi drill sitting on the bumper? I'm in the market for a cordless, and have been looking at Milwaukee, Bosch, Makita, etc. Sounds like a great deal on the Hitachi.

So, you went with the drum style? I thought about that, but will the drum style work with early cruiser or mini/4runner CV/double cardan joint?

What about using the rotor and caliper from All Pro?

I might just try the All Pro.

Drum style should work fine with th e CV.

What about installing a third battery for all 12v electronics? Run a converter to charge and a seperate fuse block.

Thats a whole other can of worms, my feeling is find a 24 volt fan, it would be superior IMO in the long run.

They are out there. I trialed a 48V airconditioner for a telco cabinet and it had two 24V electric fans in series on the condenser. It was made in Holland though.

Only 24 volt fans I have found so far are in England.....

Pics of the rear bumper with tire carrier, fuel can carrier and front ARB later today with tires on also.
