Just keep'em away from me...

Anyone here ever got hit by two hurricane in two weeks?

Frances and Jeanne, 'o4. Lost use of my house for about 6 weeks. After new roof install was completed in Sept. '05, Hurricane Wilma destroyed half of it 6 weeks later. that's 3 in 13 months. Was also brushed by Charlie and Katrina with minimal impact. Out of power for 35 days. I'm really ready now. Bring it on!

So we were neighbors!
I'm ready too now...

Surf last two days has been waist to nipply high with some fun drops a bit bigger, but nothing to brag about. Just out of the water - second day back after 5 months out for the shoulder. I'm not as ready as Jim at the house, but I'm prolly more prepared than him to hit up a good swell and that's what's important :flipoff2:.

Basic site for surf forecasts: www.magicseaweed.com and www.buoyweather.com and a great surf shop website for swell history, current NE Florida conditions and Deans forecast www.surf-station.com.

My kids saw you in this weekend Palm Beach crossing the road with your longboard. They honked but you didn't hear 'em. They surfed Flagpole.

That was supposed to be partys above, not parts.

Dean made landfall as a cat5 165mph winds gusts up to 200mph. It hit Costa Maya. I was just there about 3 weeks ago. That is a very poor area. Most of the houses were wooden about the size of 1-2 of our beedrooms. A lot did not have any windows or doors, just open. Most had thach roofs. There is no way any of those houses will survive.

Duh! Didn't hear :flipoff2: Went with a few friends and took the kiddies. Took down a friends tandem board (from HI), his 21' HI outrigger canoe (40lb kevlear) and a few of the new boards. The new 6'2" single fin I got for slop surf kills it on days like that....

Man - I need to get a few things in order for the next round of storms - I've got too much junk in the yard!

I would think the storm would clean your yard for you :)

Yeah - I still find shingles that are from a house two doors down... Kinda funny, but I'm in an old 50' wide lots historic district and having the old houses packed in tightly actually keeps the wind up and above everything - at least a little bit. I've ridden out more big storms here than all my prior years on various barrier islands....

I have 3 out-of-town weekends planned this month. That usually means the southeast (Florida) will have a threat during at least one of those weekends.

Lets hope they all stay south. This is another nasty one. 165mph and going to hit the whole north coast of Honduras with 175-200 mph winds.
