I do not want to nor do I have to sell my truck so I'm just testing the water.
She's been good to me since purchase in 2020, has never left me stranded, is an easy vehicle to work on and would definitely be missed. I would much rather trade for a pickup in similar condition (4x4 T100, Taco or 4runner - prefer older gens.) but I'll succumb to the right price if offered. Not been off-roaded too much other than getting to primitive camp sites, hunting seasons, and the usual farm duties.
Also, I can and will provide a Carfax upon request but it will have to be emailed. It will not show the TB/WP job so I can provide a receipt upon request. I maintained a Google spreadsheet for maintenance items "performed" and "needed" because I like to keep up with things and I don't trust a lot of mechanics or Carfax reports. If you'd like to see said spreadsheet just ask.
The first owner leased it out of Chicago, IL for the first 34k miles of its life. Second owner brought it to Chattanooga, TN and owned it up to 127k miles. Third owner in Birmingham, AL until 200k miles. Fourth owner also in Birmingham, AL until 227k miles. Then, I purchased and here we are. So, it's almost a 100% southern truck and it's only just beginning to spread its wings.
General Info
Current Mileage - 261,000 easy miles - will go up slightly because it's my DD
Clean Alabama Title in my name and possession
I'm the 5th owner
No wrecks but PO was off-roading and bumped a tree with passenger rear quarter panel
The usual dings, scratches, pin sized rust spots on exterior only / paint is faded on hood & roof
Extremely minimal (if any) rust on underside (frame, diffs, etc.)
Front seats need some help, comes with third row
Also comes with a spare set of very clean LX rims
No leaks on the inside, all windows seal perfectly, no turbulence noise when at highway speed
PO's broke the tailgate handle/latch (not liftgate), searched for 2 years to no avail.
A little clunk when shifting from P to D to R, etc.
Have kept the driveshafts and yolks greased
Currently has Mickey Thompson M/T's
PO installed safari snorkel
Comes with rubber floor mats & original carpet trunk mat
Comes with new OE TPS - not installed yet, preventative
Comes with new OE Fuel Filter - not installed yet, preventative
What works & what doesn't work
* Engine purrs like a kitten & does not leak oil
* Transmission shifts like butter & does not leak
* Transfer case Hi & Low functional & does not leak
* CDL functional & dash light functional
* AHC & controls are original and fully functional & doesn't leak to my knowledge
* A/C is fully functional, rear A/C doesn't work but rear heat works
* A/C & Radio controls functional
* All window motors functional
* All door locks functional (but a little sticky in 100 degree summers)
* All head/tail lights are fully functional
* Side view mirrors stick a little but move around easily; auto dim works just fine, same for rear view mirror
* Interior lights functional
* "D" light is not functional (might be a perk to some)
* Both front seat motors functional but seat heaters are weak
* Driver's seat memory controls don't work (haven't checked fuses)
* Original Antenna & button functional
* Original radio (functional), tape deck (not functional) and 6 CD changer (functional)
* Front hood (bonnet) struts don't work well but rears are fine
Maintenance since 2020
* Steering Rack Bushings - @ Express - 230k miles
* Timing Belt/Water Pump @ Firestone - 240k miles
* DIY - Regular Oil Changes w/ Mobil 1 Full Synth. 5w30
* DIY - Greased driveshafts & yolks - 235K & 250k miles
* DIY - Front & Rear Brake Pads - 250k miles
* DIY - Flushed Power Steering Res. - 250k miles
* DIY - All New (Denso Iridium) Spark Plugs & (aftermarket) Coils - 255k miles
* DIY - New Aftermarket Thermostat - 250k miles
* DIY - OE Vapor Canister Purge Valve - 255k miles
* DIY - Air Filter - 255k miles
I want to be transparent and mention a few items that I haven't been able to fix yet.
* Steering Rack does leak some from Driver Side inner seal ($1200 quoted @ Firestone for full replacement)
* Front & Rear calipers & rotors will need replacement soon
* Brake fluid needs to be flushed and bled
* AHC fluid needs to be flushed and bled
After the rain subsides this week I will take some current photos of underside, inside and outside but for now here are three from some of our adventures.
Seeking $10,500 or best offer or trade for 1st or 2nd gen similar condition 4x4 T100, Tacoma, or 4Runner.
