How rare are the '67 model FJ55s? Did they have a VIN tag on the body or one of those little dog tags like the old -40s had?

I'm wondering how likely I could find a '67 frame and title upon which to build a daily driver as it should be smog-exempt in my county. I bet they are pretty few and far between seeing as I think it was the first production year for the FJ55.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Just to clarify, I'm really just curious if anyone knows any production numbers for the -55 model?

That's interesting. The LC Wiki page says '67. But, that would explain why I couldn't find an example of a '67 -55 anywhere!

Course... that could mean they physically began production in '67 but by the time they got to the US, they were all titled as '68s?

Thanks for the input!

Production changes always begin in July/August the year prior to release so buyers get that *NEW FOR 1968* feeling before everyone else.
