My parents passed the bug down to me, they had a few FJ40s, a FJ45, a FJ55 and a FJ60. I've had a 75 V8 40(my first cruiser), a 65 & a 77 FJ40, both ended up being stripped for parts, my 79 FJ40 project and an 83 FJ60/FJ65 wannabe, project rig. I've also driven two Tacomas (an 98 and a 01) and a 86 forrunner. I plan on having at least one or two of every model at some point.

Only limited by lack of working space (garage is my woodworking shop) and cash. Can't wait to p/up another 60 and another 60, and another 60 , and another..............................

Its pretty bad. To make it worse, Land Cruisers are all my wife will drive. But at least everybody knows what to get me for Christmas.

I guess I'm addicted but not just to cruisers, no folks not drugs, cars. I think it is interesting that so many people love the same kind of cars. How many people do you know that also consider cars such as the Mecedes-Benz diesel wagons, or early eighties Subarus, or International Scouts, or Tercel 4WD drive wagons or AMC eagles, Volkswagon air-cooled..........cool. The list goes on, all this can mean is that somewhere out there there is some cosmic draw to ingenious, practical, RELIABLE vehicels. Maybe when the car designers listen to the basic human needs when it comes to transportation we move ahead faster than if we go for frills and creature comforts. I am no horse man but I would rather have one I could ride than one that was just for looks.

not too bad at all, there are still lots of cruisers out there for me to own. Up till now, it's been:

'79FJ40 sold to Brimmer
'84FJ60 sold to local kid
'83FJ60 sold to other local kid
'88FJ62 sold, resides on north coast somewhere
'76FJ55 sold
'82FJ60 sold
'75FJ40 sold
'69FJ40 sold, friend doing a frame up
'85V8J60 sold
'77FJ40 sold to Shane Barkman, FL (anyone know that guy?)
'67FJ45LV (anyone want a SOA Waggy?)
'75FJ46 my current wheeler
'85OJ60 my current daily driver

13 cruisers over 10 years... if that were alcohol, I'd be a saint.

I'll go along with that.

I'm always looking for 80s...then I feel rotten because I love the 60 so much, though it's not very practical. Then I think: I could keep the 60 and have an 80! Then later I'll get a 40...but what if I come across a nice 45? Maybe I could split the difference and get a 62? Could I replace the Avalon with an 80 or a 62? Then there's always the 100 series...that could be nice...I find them for $20k all the time - 98-99 models...blah blah blah.

Ultimately I figure the better half's car will rotate, I'll keep the 60 and get the TR6 back on the road...then I'll have all of my bases covered. Much as I like the other Cruisers, I like a little variety too...

That's my life in a nutshell too!!

 Ok I have dreams of owning a cruiser for every "NEED" mud, rocks, carrying two people carrying four people carrying eight people, pulling my other cruisers. Having high HP, diesels, stock ones my wife just shakes her head, my kids are starting to see a benifit to more cruisers (they could drive one). Look through the paper everyday for that specail cruiser deal.Oh yea we are going to CA to see Mickey Mouse land, I was bummed but guys on this site pointed out Spector is near by as well as other TLC places so now I pumped and my kids need to see Mickey.
Got my 1st FJ 40 in 78 did my 1sy swap in 80 and now my favorite truck in the stable is a FJ 62 with a vortec, plush with balls. Have not had a 55 or a 45 yet. My wife kinda likes the idea of a 80 but the mpgs bite and we drive too much. I am an addict.. there I said it now only 11 more steps and I'll recover....yea right!

Well, I'd say my addiction isn't as bad as some considering I don't even turn 16 for a couple of days. I also don't have huge funds to contribute to it, but it's awesome owning an FJ62 and you could definitely call it an addiction.

I used to think I was an addict, but after reading this this thread I can see that 600 posts on MUD is quite within the range of normal. I like to think that my limited space has kept me from acquiring more project rigs. I put all my effort into a single truck - it keeps the decisions to a minimum like "which truck needs new tires first?" No problem, THE Cruiser gets the tires. Although I can definitely identify with the "When do I switch to an 80?" dilemma.
