OMG that bike is pure sex.

I can only imagine the sound.

A duc is in my future, somewhere.

Yes they do sound like nothing other. Very nice ride too. Blip the throttle and she stands right up too.

I'll never go back to four cylinders.

Joined some club called the TCLA in 1990 or 91? Poor collage student but still sent in the $ just to get a few 3-4 page newsletters called Toyota Trails.

This goes on, let’s just say the bug is so bad I quit my safe well paying corporate job and now make my living making parts for LandCruisers! $<Loving what I do!

Hello. My name is Paul, and I'm addicted to Cruisers.
I bought my first one, a beige '76 FJ 40 about 5 years ago. It had a bunch of "issues" from the PO that I spent lots of time on. Let's just say way to much time was invested in the relationship. That truck turned out to be a "gateway truck". About a month ago I bought a white 60 with the idea of selling the 40 when the weather got nice. After all, I didn't really have room in my driveway for another vehicle. Well, I ended up selling one of my 2 boats to make room so I can keep them both. A friend drove by and asked me if I got another toy. I lied and said that I was just trying it out. Now I'm thinking of selling the beater SUV we have as an extra family car. If I did that we could replace it with an 80. Somebody help me! No, never mind. I don't have a problem. Really. I'm fine.

Way to go Paul. I guess the cruisers have really grown on you.

....and I thought you were going to sell me your 40. Damn that rig is nice.

I'll trade you the 60 for it ;) . Maybe.....

There's no addiction here. I just get in my truck and everything in the world is ok. With the exception of retards who drive Heeps & Dummers.......They have my sympathy.

Well guys, hanging out on 'MUD isn't helping. You should all go back to a diet of green salads, fish, and bottled water. No red meat, no beer, no CRUISERS!

Got MUD?

Well, monday is supposed to be my last day of work and I've got these long lists of things I want to get done on my 40 and my 62. I'm really psyched. Today, I hear through the grape vine that I may not be unemployed on tuesday after all and I have really mixed feelings about that. Considering I've got a family to support, how messed up is that?

I don't even own one damn cruiser that's in my sig line anymore! Bought my first in 84, an 83 FJ-60. Currently down to a restored '80 FJ-40, pristine 89 Fj-62, and a other '80 and 77 FJ-40's...I've had over 200....it's damn bad! Time to renew my sig....sigh...I miss em all...

the first car i bought was a cruiser...at 19 i sprung it over...soon to be 21 ill be four linking it after GSMTR..all i think about is cruisers...and what im going to do next to my rig.

to forever driving a cruiser

I have had or have
86 FJ60 - sold
76 FJ40 - sold
78 FJ40 - 20k invested - own
94 FJ80 - sold
98 100 - wifes - own
87 FJ60 - almost done restoring and plan to sell - own

so I have had a total of 6 cruisers and still own 3 of them. Still looking for more...someone wanna buy a kidney?

My daughter wants a cruiser, she is 11.
My son 3 1/2 has cruiser clothes, was brought home from the hospital in a 60. He loves "blue". He has a little drive car he calls his cruiser.
The wife yells cruiser from the living room when I am in the kitchen. She used to give me s***, now she is just as bad. She wants a 100 series. Wife will not let me sell the 40...like I really want to. She loves the 60.

Drove 200 miles out of my way in California just to go to SOR. I am wearing a cruiser T shirt under my sweatshirt right now.

I built my house with a 3 car garage just to house my cruisers.

Toilet has cruiser mags on the back, computer has cruiser wall paper, cruiser posters in my garage. Parts books, repair manuals are everywhere. I have spare parts taking over my garage.

I once spent 2 hours driving around looking for a 55 my wife said she saw in town. Never did find it but I found 3 40's.

I have hugged my 40. I talk to the 60 all the time while driving. They are like my children.

I will never own another vehicle. I have a sickness and apparantly it's hereditary and highly contageous.

Addict

I'm addicted and I don't even own one!!! I hours browsing this site, among others, imagining the fun I would have with a '60, or '80. Hunting trips, camping trips, put the dog in the back and go trips...

I have probably 1GB of hard-disk space occupied by pics, articles, and archives...

Practicality wins though, as I cannot afford to drive a cruiser 90miles /day. Some day I will get one, but as a fun driver.

addict, yes.

I'm currently in the process of telling a lie to leave to office early to....gulp... go see my cruiser at the upholstery shop. I won't be able to drive it - it still has no windows - but I can play with it.

Hey, I laughed my ass off when I read this because it's exactly the same at our house.I've had an 87 HJ60 for years . It's stock except for bigger wheels and tires. I have taken it everywhere and now we all go everywhere in it. My wife and me ,our two kids 5 and 7 and our two cattle dogs. We love it. It's now my wifes daily driver. We left the city a couple years ago and moved out to the country on ten acres. Now we needed a pickup . Had to be a diesel so I picked up a 98 Dodge. Had it in the bush a couple times and hated it so sold it. Still needed a pickup and guess what I found. A 1978 FJ45 which is now my daily driver, waiting for a diesel conversion. I love it! I get a lot more waves and thumbs up than I did in the Dodge. ha ha.
There are two other 45s here in town. I put my little guy into kindergarten this year and it turns out his teachers husband owns one of them. They are LC addicts too. We needed a snowplow to do our drive and guess what I saw in the classifieds. Now we have a 1977 FJ40 for a plow. I am looking for a clean 60 to do a diesel conversion on as our HJ is rotting out. I found a very clean frame for the 45 and am going to build that up. All I need is time now.
If I'm not on here or pirate then I'm learning about or working on one of the cruisers. We're always looking for them while we're out driving. Catalogs and FSMs all over. Just joined TLCA and discovered TTs. Had to order all the back issues. I'm realizing as I write this just how hooked I am. At least it's one of the heathiest addictions I have. Still want an FJ55 and a 70, maybe a JDM. Where does it end? Does it end? No probably not since now we have ten acres of storage. Hope my wife doesn't see that last line. Gotta go pull the rocker arm off the 2H and figure out where that noise is coming from. pete
