Round two of putting our loved 80 on the market..... it took a lot longer to get the build going on her replacement but it's finally time, and the wife most importantly agrees..

This is my 5th 80 build - we picked it up as a one owner ( minus dealer) from Atlanta and it was obviously garage kept, even now the paint is almost perfect.

It's been built up to be a reliable light offroad DD, and that's how we've used it. Duggy's Garage here in Houston has done 95% of the work on her, including a full overhaul and HG at roughly 218k as PM..... along with that almost all hoses, lines and accessories were replaced with OEM or upgraded. Front Axles were fully redone at roughly 205k. she has a pair of new AGM batteries, new rotors/pads within last 3 months and a recent full fluid change. I'll post up all the build specs/ parts shortly - it's a long list. and I'll post more pics as well. PM me if you have anything specific you'd like a pic of.

Front seats were redone with LCH covers and new OME seat bottoms, rears ,and 3rd row are originla leather and in good shape (3rd row are out currently) Carpet was taken out and professionally cleaned and Dynamat installed in doors and floor etc.

She's currently in Norfolk, VA area, as I'm there for business 2-3 weeks a month now.

I have almost all records and invoices and am happy to talk about the work done etc.... The hood scoop is a bit polarizing I realize, I planned a Sc'er with a custom top mounted intercooler... My local body shop has quoted replacing with a stock hood should that be a choice.

Asking $ 42k( NEW PRICE 38k) - might consider taking a Tundra in partial trade, as I need a DD for Norfolk.. the wife likes her new Rig too much to give it up..

Price drop to$ 36k obo - need to find her a forever home.....I will be back in TX over the 4th and might run her up to VA and keep her at the shop this summer until she sells.

The 80 is Still avail - running it up from TX to VA this weekend. Finding that it's hard to sell a truck when you aren't there to show it....

it'll be in the Norfolk area next week until it sells - stored inside our shop when not driven.

to those inquiring on the hood - I'll let the next owner decide the future of that... it's about $1200 for OEM new and color matched according to my shop.

So the 80 had a smooth trip up from Houston to Norfolk / Newport News, VA area over the weekend- 1400 miles in 21 hours ......I'd forgotten how smoothly it rides and I got several thumbs up along the way, even from the driver of one of those new Ineos Grenadiers.....

I'm storing inside at my facility here and will gradually work on a few items on my punchlist until it finds the right next owner...... it turned 246k on the way up. Exactly double the mileage of my current DD, but more reliable by far....

PM me if interested in more details or pics etc...

Tires are getting rotated Tuesday and AC recharged...... and then it's getting a fresh buffing and wax and new Tint on the back windows.....

Price drop to $ 32k - and would consider a trade of sorts for an 18-21 Tundra Large cab SR5 ( cloth and 38 gal tank hopefully) Need a shop truck.....

Congrats to @LLTB, I think you’ve got a fine rig there. Quick question to @RS6tofj80… the 4x4 labs rear bumper. Did you ever tow anthing with it? I’ve got a super heavy rear bumper now on my LX450 and… while I like the 4x4 labs setup, have always been a bit on the fence about cutting the rear crossmember and how much it could actually ‘safely’ tow. Not looking to tow boats… just an offroad trailer like a Turtleback or AT Chaser, etc. I’d say about 3,500lbs or less??

Thanks… good looking wagon there, btw….

Afternoon @SFCDiablo - the truck found a great new owner so I'm stoked...

I've had the 4x4 labs rear on 2 of my 80's and found it's fine for stuff under 4k.... I did tow my C63 track toy once about 20 miles on a drive-on trailer - combo weight likely was 4500-5k and it was fine, but the brakes were at the limits....I didn't notice any flexing or such. Luke's design seems to hold up well...

Is that a 2011 G55?

It's an 08 downbadged to a Puch.... but you get it... Like you I loved my built 200, but the HP of the 55 is hard to match..... any mods to yours ?

Cheers

No, my G55 was mostly stock, except for the G550/Fox suspension. I sold it a couple of years ago (need to update my signature) and have been considering something else with similar HP. The m113k engine was oh so addictive. I've never had an interest in the G63, but I doubt that engine is nearly as rewarding as the supercharged m113.

I love the sc'er.... this went thru a full rebuild by Eurocharge in Austin - plus Southern rebuilt the tranny to take the HP, and Eurocharge did a ECU/TCU tune...

We had a 63 that was fun - insanely fast with the E40 tune on it.... but once it was totalled out due to a texting teenager we decided to replace it with a 55 to we could do a winch bumper, not an option on the 63 with all the cooler ( 9 !)

I have feeler on Expo.... it give a bit more insight... happy to chat if you're interested. It's super clean and ready to go anywhere, quickly....

Feeler....... Built and baselined Mercedes G55 ready for adventures 4" lift fully dialed, 325/70 Toyo's, triple locked, winch front, swing rear - https://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/feeler-built-and-baselined-mercedes-g55-ready-for-adventures-4-lift-fully-dialed-325-70-toyos-triple-locked-winch-front-swing-rear.245617/

And a long read on my 200 Build if you're bored.... loved the rig but couldn't ever get enough power.... the guy I sold it to did the Harrop Sc'er and is happy once it finally got a stable tune....

Forgot to put this as SOLD ! Stoked that it found a loving new owner who will use it as built and finish the vision.....
