Putting out the feelers if any one is interested in doing a a run up in Big Bear next weekend. I would like to do Gold Mountain / John Bull and Holcomb Creek. Saturday or Sunday, meet at the Grizzly or South Shore Cafe for breakfast and wheel all day with a break for lunch somewhere. This will be a long day of wheeling with plenty of opportunity to continue on or drop out when you have had your fill. :steer:

Mmmwwahhha ha ha ha ha ha. count.......me.........in!! For the 10th :D

I hope this is not too funky. I would love to come up with someone with a free seat available. I'll pay some of the costs. Sorry, but my truck is stock and not ready for this type of run. Just want to meet, learn, and apply.

That is a very ambitious plan to tackle all three of those trails in one day, I like your moxy. I might be able to make it too and will keep you guys posted. Saturday is usually better for runs that way you get Sunday to cleanup, rest and spend sometime with the family. If I go "OG 91 LC" I have a spot for you.

:D
I may be available to do this trip.

I have been up there last year & had a great time.

I'd be down to go again but will confirm back on this thread late next week.

Hey guys I got back in town this afternoon, out wheeling in Hinkley/Calico, hotter that Hades out there. I wanted to get back to eveyone ASAP. I like Saturday over Sunday but want to give as many folks a shot as possible. I guess we'll take a vote. Also as Tare said, running 3 solid runs may be too much for a day but the idea was to to get any one interested to show up for a full day, not a "hey gotta cousins b-day to attend to gotta cut out at 3:00 whadda think can I make this run and the b-day party.... Not a chance...:D:D

There is a group of 5 of us from the Thousand Oaks area that are going up on the 9th. You are welcome to join in. PM me if your interested.

5 is a nice figure thanks for the invite. If we cannot produce another 4-5 rig group I may take you up on that offer thanks!

Sounds good, are you working Saturday?

I have room if your arrangement with Tare does not work out.

I'm probably in. I'll confirm in a day or two. I've never been wheelin there and really looking forward to hitting these trails.

Man, I promised another buddy to help him swap his BMW V8 engine that weekend so I'll catch you guys next round. Bring back lots if pics. Thx.

I think I'm in, even though I was there 2 weeks ago! Is the plan to wheel then camp or are people getting rooms?
I think we can get all 3 done, barring no taco'd tie rod or some kind of trail fix.

I might be able to do this. I would rather camp but a one day run is good also.

It will be a one day trip for me. What time are we meeting in Big bear?

Just don't run 37s and you'll be fine! :flipoff2:

P.S. My Budbuilt Relay&Tie Rods were delivered today :bounce:

I was planning on a knarly day run, no camping but I could be talked into it, the question is where? It's summer and it's usually packed up there.

Camping sounds good but again where? Isn't Hannah Flats still closed??

Dam Scott this is getting serious :D.

Not so much, I hope.. :) Are you still considering it?

It seems Saturday is the popular choice especially if we camp? This leaves cruiserruf out, that is a bummer. cruiserruf---any chance you can run Saturday?

How about two meeting spots, those who want to meet for breakfast and another at the trail head. I'll provide maps and coordinates for both.

The Grizzly has gas near by and a Mccy D's for those getting there late. How about meeting at the Grizzly at 7:45, too early, too late?? Gold Mountian trailhead by 9:30-9:45. I'm an early bird so whatever is good for every one is good for me.
