Well it is time to sell my 1986 Hj60. I’ve owned it for around five years now. It has been in my shop for two and a half years with the number six piston out of it. We recently moved so I found a good motor for the truck and put it back on the road, however with three cruisers and down 600 sqft of shop space something has to give. The PO of the truck was a professional from Toronto Canada that had everything done at the dealer, me on the other hand my pockets aren’t that deep, and have done all the work myself. The truck has the normal rust over the wheel wells, and rockers, and not good at body work I have not attempted to repair it. The frame on it is in really good condition. One of the best I have ever seen. Part of my hesitation in selling.
The truck has 376,000Km on it, and the replacement motor has around the same. The guy I purchased the motor from was not 100% on it, however said it was in that range plus, or minus.
From sitting, now outside the brakes, and parking brake need some attention. The exhaust system needs to be replaced. I am hoping that a cruiser guy would be interested in this truck and give her a turbo, and a nice stainless steel exhaust system.
I had the truck in at a spring shop for re-arching, and shocks four years ago. The ride is ruff, and thus part of the sale. My wife no longer enjoys us driving it as a daily driver, so I purchased a 1969 Fj40 to use as a second vehicle. I had 31 BFG’s on the truck with lot of room left over. There are stock tires on it now, which are almost new.
I am looking for $5000.00 for the truck, or trades of equal value. No low ballers please. If you are a Cruiser guy and want more info please feel free to contact me.

Pretty disheartening isn't it, I mean to see something that was special to you seem not so special to others?? I think the pictures of the rust, speak to your honesty, but are a sign of probably alot more trouble needing to be dealt with. Do you have any idea what kind of mileage your were getting per gallon ?? I know it's alot of work and takes awhile to do but perhaps consider a part-out? I'm amazed in the 6 months or so I've been on Mud the feeding frenzies that sometimes occur for certain vehicles or parts. Just some thoughts, good luck.

Really nobody!?

No offense, but that's really just a parts truck at this point. The Canadian winters have really taken their toll. I'm looking for an HJ60 drivetrain and would be interested in it at the right price, but the frame and body on that thing are scrap at this point.

Hey Splangy what gives? You have been tire kicking this truck for five months now, even asking me to wait till January 2011 to sell and I was asking $5600.00then, and now it's scrap? Here's your quote from the diesel & JDM parts classifieds.

Posts: 1,359 How's the rust on the rest of the body & frame?

Can you wait a few more months to sell it so I can legally import it into the USA in 2011 ?!?!

So what's up? Not sure of your idea of a good price would be for the drivetrian but put a number out there and we'll see.

Yes disheartening. I still feel that this is in good shape compared to some Canadian Cruiser's that I've looked at over the years, not scrap to me. Summer is coming, maybe the old gril will be the DD again. Yes I thought about part-out, but with just moving not to sure what the new niegbours would think. Not sure what they think now with two sitting in the drive way. I was getting about 10l/100Km, 28.19miles/imp gal, or 23.48miles/us gal for mileage. Take it easy man thanks.

Just curious about what it takes to get a vehicle like this into the states? Years ago I took a boat across the ditch and "abandoned" it at a buddy's house, but I don't think the same applies?
