Hello everyone, been following this forum from near about 8-9 year. Owned a 3rd Gen intercooled hilux surf (4runner) since 2006 so mainly connected with YOTAtech for info. Couldn't part with the runner, I recently got a used 2002 HJZ79 with about a 105k on clock. Its a basic no nonsense 4x4 with lots of upgrade potential. Here are a few pics from the day i bought
Thanks for attention
Best regards
Faisal

Nice little truck! I'd say you scored there. And i love the no-nonsense rims. At 105,000km, let's hope it has another 800,000km in it yet. Look after it now!

That's exactly what I want! I just have to wait another ten years before I can import it. Maybe Herr Trump will loosen those regulations as well.

Thanks, yes that 100k is low for a 1hz :) replaced those lovely rims with alloys and mounted 35" muddies but save the steel ones in garage

Nice! How does the rear look? any rubbing at wheel lock? If not, what suspension did you have to go to to make it fit?
No rubbing at all. Even with stock suspension it was good but i have upgraded to OME medium lift kit and got about 3inch lift

Just a question. Can someone guide me what is the vacuum operated thing with a blue wire connecter on it. This pic is of the net. This thing and its wire and hoses are missing from my 1hz. Thanks in advance

Those are probably the vacuum solenoid valves that shift the transfer case from 2wd to 4wd when you have push button 4wd. They could just be in a different location or if you don't have them you should have a lever for shifting 2wd-4wd.

70 series cruisers came with either button or lever for 4wd depending on year & model. The pre V8 transfer cases are quite similar apart from that.

Cheers

Thanks. Yes did some research. I have a different transfer case lever. The one with vacuum selonids had a H4 buttom in dash. Thanks again for the lead.
