Yupp just bought a tester last night. You figure the PCV system looks ok? Without knowing the condition of the valve of course.
Hope this sorts out without any real major engine work. In the process of putting a 2F into my fj40 - pulled out a v8 and went back to a more original configuration. Got a good deal on a low milage engine. You might consider an engine swap if you find "big" issues with yours.

Yupp, I already have a 350 lined up. I dont have the shop (or even a garage) or the cash for a major rebuild of a 2f so a quick swap is looking like the way I will go. Maybe someday I will come back to the 2f but finding an engine that doesn't need a rebuild w/ good compression seems to be quite an endeavour. I have a buddy that is a SBC guru that will make things much smoother if I go that way. I know it has its own set of drawbacks but I really just want the shortest path to a reliable, drivable cruiser. Good luck with your swap back!
