wish mine was that clean... but there is no way in hell ill spend anymore time other than a waterhose and maybe a scrubber gettin the mud and grease off of it. i may paint it with some rattle can one day tho...

Those are some great pics. Looks clean. I'm gonna laugh when you go through mud. As soon as you go home you'll have this crazy twitch until you clean it... I smell similarities between you and Howard Hughes.

If it is not too much trouble to post pics of the rear passenger and deck area I would appreciate it.

Here you go. You have to take off the chrome strip and pull up the carpet to see it in a complete vehicle.

Thanks Dan. I checked the c within a C and only saw some grease thats all. I will just respray with Metal protector. I finished the chassis black tonight and man it looks sweet. Better than mr toyoda could have done. I will post pics in the morning.

Mud? well at least now it will just rinse off with a hose. I am not going to be cleaning this part of the truck like this ever again. It spiraled out of control, I almost lost my wife, my house and job. Luckily it is over.

NICE! clean is good, as is well painted. Competition vehicles always keep the frames and cages clean and painted so they can see cracks or new oil leaks. keep up the good work.

You have a pre nup on you keeeping the 60 I hope. Cause you got the addiction and the 60 still there and might I add beatifull both outside (fantastic paint) and underneath. Yeah when you get it in the mud now you will start jerking like an a herion junkie, till you get it off your baby. Great job great pic's Love your truck. LOL:cheers:

Haha- no prenup but I will be living in this rig, she can have everything else.

Where you a week ago Mel? That thing is sweet. Would have made this whole thing alot easier.

I am preparing for the first mud/dirt run. I just keep slowly telling myself "It will just wash off, it will just wash off"

Glad to see I'm not the only one! When I had my drivetrain out I used a heated pressure washer (for tractor trucks) with degreaser additive to get EVERYTHING. Wore my professional snakeskin speedos with the reinforcements and went to town. It was amazing how much junk came out of the Cruisers trunk. Grease, dirt, road grime, and other misc.
Pressure washed, then used 2 packs of green scrubbies to get down to paint (was still there). Once dry I tidied up with 4 cans of 3M spray on undercoating, and 2-3 cans of Rustoleum Pro. for touch ups.
Several of my buddies thought I missed my OCD meds...

Fantastic work! The only way I could ever get my rig to look that good is to find a local time machine and go back to 1992 - and then only if the PO was keeping it in a garage, which I kinda doubt.

I am envious....

Update

Ok So I got the underside completed. Then got to looking at the carpet inside and tore it out and started putting down Damplifier. Got the rear pretty much done and was going to stop. Then I just couldnt and tore out the front carpet. That is where I found some surface rust (or at least I hope it is only surface rust) by the drivers side floor, next to the door. I got my rust wheel and will get that bastard tomorrow, along with finishing damplifier. New carpet will be ready to go in monday.

Damn that brings back memories a=of crap getting into my eyes, and many, many, many years of spilled drinks under the nasty carpeting...This really makes me feel alot better thinking someone else is as crazy as I am about these things...now, you still need to get some new IPOR seats, center console, visor covers, rear seat cover, paint the rear seat steel backing, and clean the headliner...oh, and then replace all the door seals including the rear hatch uppers and lowers to get out all the debris, etc.
Almost forgot...I also hand sewn a new restoration of the original vinyl e-brake cover. Gad, Im anal.
Please keep it going!
Crud, it looks like you've already got the IPOR's...

Got the ipors, need a tuffy, did the rear hatch with Kevinrowlands seal and a new toyota seal ($$$), will do the door seals once this is done. Put newer visors in, painted rear seat metal (do I need to add sound deadener to that?) then clean headliner.

I decided to skip sound deadening on the rear seat panel, but did sound deaden under the rear seat proper. I too am interested in upgrading to a tuffy (currently have the Iron Horsey). You are going to be incredibly happy revamping the interior.

I am anxious to tackle the rust tomorrow and see how bad it is- only damn spot on the truck so I am hoping it is only a spilled coke or something and just looks worse than it is..

I am done...........for this weekend.

Its 10pm- I am beat down tired. I treated the rust spot( only surface) put down damplifier and installed new carpet. I polished my wheels, cleaned my engine and I am passing out.
