Still need a fan shroud for my '62. Splangy indicated he had one, but haven't seen him online for a while. Anyone out there got one for me? My rig is road-ready with the exception of the shroud, and it's getting pretty hot without it ! There are many parts I know I'll have a tough time finding - but I didn't think a fan shroud would be one of them. Live and learn ..ahahah.

Don't think a shroud is going to fix your heating problems. I drove my 68 for many years without a shroud. Part of that time was in Phoenix. I believe the original fan blade came apart and destroy the original shroud as well as putting a hole in the hood. I repaired the hood shortly after buying the cruiser but it took many years to locate the correct shroud. Never had over heating problem. The V8s with less mass tend to have more over heating problems. I would check the thermostat and do a good flush of the system. Do you have a four core radiator? This was repaired right? Did you check the flow before installing? The down side of having the fill necked off the top, you can't watch the flow thru the radiator. While a radiator is out I hook a hose to one end and watch the flow out the other. Next time I do this I will run hot water out of the water heater and use a temperature gun to make sure I'm getting even flow.

Thanks guys. NUC - my next venture was exactly that ... make your own. I'm just dead-set on restoring to original (like I've said, extremely original but not perfectly original). So, I'll look further for a shroud.

LITP: the radiator is 4 core, original to the vehicle. I did have it fixed, flow tested and pressure tested to 20lbs. It stays pretty cool while I'm driving, and when I stop it gets pretty hot - although not above 200 degrees so far. I do get some liquid out of the overflow tube while it's sitting after a 30 min drive. I've been afraid to drive it more than 30 minutes or so at 40-50 MPH because it might overheat - but maybe I need to test it out and just see what happens. Thermostat is good, I tested it. Thanks guys.

Ahaha.. Ok, thanks Splangy. I figured you either got really busy, or you fell off the planet. Zip code 42104. Thanks.
