Last night I finally got around to installing Shane's restore kit for the 58-74 heater and blower. Took me a few minutes to get my head around what went where but his E-Bay store has pics and descriptions. They turned out really well. Question I have though, you sent a 'Heater Instruction' decal, where does this get placed? I looked everywhere and could find no pic of where to put it?

It does not go on this year, It is for the pre 67 heaters.

The knob is your instruction. Where is it?

Your resistor, looks new. Is it? Can you provide details?

I am restoring one now. I will not be making a kit for these as they are just a pain in the asss.

But the restored one will be sweeeeet!

Oh, did I get the sticker by mistake? Good looking sticker!

My handle for my knob is on the left side of the heater and of course I do not have the knob. Got one for sale?

Yes, the resistor is new. It's a one ohm, 50 watt ceramic resistor from Digi-Key. About $4.00. I had to move one of the resistor mounts as the new resistor is a bit longer. My web site has full details of my heater restoration including the part # for the resistor.

I am in the same boat right now. Am a bit confused as the only foam that still was intact when I took mine apart was the stuff on the large door (and it was a sticky mess). I was unable to find the kit listed on Shanes store anymore...Shane, you have pics of what goes where and a reccomendation for what kind of glue to use to stick the foam on that has no sticky stuff? Maybe 3M spray I am guessing?

EDIT: With some searching I answered my own questions.
Here is a link to Shanes pics on the install of the front heater restoration

I hope you don't mind the link, Shane!:D

I used 3m weatherstip cement. Funny this thread should come up, I just scored a heater on E-Bay that has the knob I was missing!
I am going to try 3M Super 77. Hope it won't melt the foam. I am thinking that since Shane's kit is for various applications I will have a few left over parts/pieces?

Edit June 2025: 3M Super 77 worked
And AATLAS1X is out of business and deleted his server data so all the great pics are gone. :(
