I just went to install HIR bulbs in my stock housing & found the PO had broken both PS & DS bulb retaining ring thingy's. I don't know what they are called but they are round, black, have 3 slot cut-outs, have 3 screws & the bulb 'screws' into them to hold it in the housing. Does anybody know the part number or name of this piece?
 
I've searched google for hours & have not came up w/much except it appears it's called a headlight bulb retainer. Can't find 1 for a LC or LX450. ANY idea where I could get a part number for this piece?
 
find a used one, it's likely part of the head lamp unit.

You may find somebody who's switched over to depo lights, or has replaced a cracked lamp...

I found that but I'm thinking that only consists of the part that bulb retainer screws into, I could be wrong though.
 
Well I ordered 2 of the 90075-99027's. Hope they include the ring that the bulbs twist lock into!

Got them today & they do NOT have the plastic rings that the lights twist lock into. They are just rubber boots. Any other input would be great!!!!!
 
Yep, that's it!!!!! Mine are broke into 3 pieces each. So I can't buy them new? Any idea what it's called or where I can get 2 of them for the low beams? Thanks!

I'd suggest maybe an ad in the classifieds:

WANTED: Your old broken FZJ80 headlight for parts off the back

While you're at it, you might even score an adjuster if you happen to need one. Somebody must have a dead one they'll strip before they pitch it in the trash. I pitched mine with an intact bulb retainer (like you need) because the glass had a rock hole in it. Sorry, I didn't know! :frown:
Somebody could ship you one for real cheap I'd bet.

Im having the same broken plastic rear retainer clip issue.
 
One of mine is busted as well, but still works OK.

Got the page. Looks like a super simple part to make. Anyone got an original OEM one in good shape laying around? I would need the original part to work off of. I will dig around in the shop. We put depot lights on one of our rigs a few years ago and may have the OEM lights laying around here somewhere.

I couldn't find the ring. If we had it, it got tossed at some point. I need access to the OEM part for this project to happen.
