I just bought this truck in the Mud classifieds off of Dans67. It's a 10/94. I had assumed it had been repainted when I first looked at it as I had never seen that colour combo, and it took me a while to get it home (imported to Canada - I picked it up yesterday). It looks to be all factory paint, or someone pretty good painted it.

Cdan, since you are aware of this colour combo, any idea what the paint codes are? The truck needs a fender and a flare (accident damage), and I am going to have to paint whatever fender I get as it is two-tone.

I think it looks damn good with this colour combo.

If they were painting only the lower half a really nice job would be around a thousand dollars.

I stand corrected, as usual when disputing Dan. He got the line just right. :D

Unfortunately, the upper parts of the truck are the ones most likely to need paint, so just painting the silver wouldn't do much for it.

If the original photo is of your vehicle in it's current condition you would be a fool to paint it.

No kidding, I wish my paint looked that good!

If I ever re-paint, I will go the Texas Lawman route. I really like the overall look and appeal of it.

I have the same color 80, and my paint still looks new. With black rims & oem clear corners right now, the truck looks awesome.

However if I was going to do a complete color change, it would be to a jet black color (no metallic flake, no pearl, just black with lots of clear for that deep & glassy look).

You know, flat khaki would not look too bad, actually. Go for it.

I like the color. I also like the factory two - tone like the Lexus.

Just be aware that all of the aftermarket bumpers and sliders are black so you will either have to convince them to send you their product un-finished or build your own bumpers & sliders. Because black bumpers will look funny on that color scheme in my humble opinion.

Rustic Green, Dune Beige, or Freeborn Red, White Roof. Get 40 series retro, man... Like Texas Lawman

Or, the same colors with the white extending down to the line as shown in post 20, which would be 55 series retro...

And to my knowledge has not been done yet.

That's because the white roof on an 80 is UGLY.. It kinda works on the Dune Beige but will NEVER work on a red 80.

Oh please don't two tone it. It looks blah. To each his own I suppose but I hate two tone. Even the factory offerings look blah.

If you have to how about light silver over dark silver, apparently that was a factory option somewhere. Or I would stick with the original colour or go the dark silver and in either case do the flares body colour.

I have a top of the range 90 model here in Aus and it is light silver over burgundy and I hate it. It's soon to be repainted in full colour of the original silver. It seems to me that as the paint deteriorates the two tone seems to look worse than similar quality straight colours but maybe that's cause I hate mine so much.

How about some nice fake woodgrain down the side.

Here's my ****e two tone:

If you plan to wheel it-- maybe look at using bedliner for the lower portion, and doing flat black or flat dark-dark gray.

I do like the dune-beige, a lot, but not so sure about the white roof, especially with a rack on it it might just be too many colors up top.
