I have been watching everyone paint/powdercoat their wheels and thought my white truck would look great with a little color. I went the paint route for a few reasons...this is how it turned out.

I was wondering the same thing, waiting for you to paint the new ones!

OP, looks great...now we just need camp to redo his!

Looks great. What size tires do you have on there?

So I have to ask... what paint did you use and what color did you go with? That is the exact color I want to paint mine I really like it! Just need to know the details on paint and color if you don't mind. One last question, did you put a clear coat on them?

Looks great.

x2 on the clear coat question

and i have a silver 100, im thinking of gun metal gray... little darker that his. wondering if it will look good. Im gunna spray my calipers black with VHT and see how that looks. The bumpy discolored metal caliper doesnt look that good. Might put some high temp putty on it, sand it smooth and do a gloss black, or semi-gloss.

How is the hold up on the paint?

Looks great! Nice work.

sorry for the delay. I've been out of town.

The tires are 295's. The paint I used was Duplicolor graphite gray wheel paint. I did paint the rims with the tires mounted, just masked off. I primed them with two coats of primer after I scuffed them up with sandpaper, then sprayed three light coats of paint and two coats of clear. I figured if I mess them up I can sand down the damaged area and hit 'em again.

I am very pleased at how they turned out.

can you take some close up pictures. I'm most likley doing this this weekend with mine. I may go darker than you, using a dark gun metal grey. any peeling? or anything?

thanks

Thanks grego. much thanks. im looking at this or PC. this looks easier to patch and not have to worry about your 300$ in powder coat with 70$ a wheel roughly. and good point, sand down and paint the scuffed area. Thanks for the info and i love the color. Im going with a black/gunmetal with minimal gloss. blacking out the calipers with them. using VHT and rusteleum car primer. and sanding them well. im getting 4 16" LC rims + LTX with 10K miles on them for about 180$, then unmounting the tires and selling them. get my money back, free set of rims if you think about it.

Just an FYI - If you use VHT Wheel Paint DO NOT use clear coat! Thier wheel paint is designed to be used without it.

This also applies to their brake caliper paint.

Grego, I used basically the same process and Dupli Color you did. I have been very happy with the results and durability. I have only had 3 or 4 minor chips in the last 6 months. All were very easy to touch up. Well worth the $30 I spent to paint the rims! Here are a couple pics:
