I just built my first T-case for my brothers (@kmj64 ) 5-speed conversion on his 62. did the oiler cup but did not block off any hole. Did not know about that. We have not installed the tranny as we were planning to do that this weekend. Would like to know if we need to break this open and fill the hole. And if so, what do you fill it with? Any feedback is appreciated. Jim

What type of transfer case? If it's the one from your brother's FJ62 there's no hole to plug. See my Post #20 just before yours.

I put a late 87 FJ60 tcase in my sons 62 5sp swap, I do not remember if I blocked that hole or if it even had one.
What issues will this cause if in fact it needed to be blocked and I didn't

The FJ62 vacuum shifted case has the boss for the hole cast into it but the hole isn't drilled during the machining process so there's nothing to plug.
Any earlier t-case with the casting for the 5th gear oiler has the hole. It needs to be plugged or fluid will travel from one unit to the other.

I use a pipe plug.

The existing hole is perfect for a 1/4" pipe tap and plug.
