Not my pics, but another group that I am part of had some shots of this H1 on Daniel. Apparently he got high centered - maybe @krzyabncanuck knows more?

Maybe ... But vehicle fires do happen. Could happen to any of us. The real issue is once fiberglass panels (and I think h1 hoods are glass) start burning, good luck putting it out.

I'll reserve judgement until more facts come out.

Hopefully not too much collateral damage via forest fire

ouch
.... Still love those H1's..... Love to make an expo platform out of one

'It'll be fun....' @CharlestonG8R said.... 'We'll do some "lite" wheeling' he said. I just hope no one was hurt.

I'd hate to have the conversation at the dinner table when I got back, too.

How does high centering turn into your truck burning to the ground? I feel like the trucks we put our troops in should be more resilient.

And, who is going to clean it up? It gives more fodder for those who want access restricted/denied, stuff happens, things break yet how do things get pushed so far that it burns to the ground like that. I'd hope and presume that someone had a fire extinguisher, my training says one in every vehicle with easy access.

Sorry to see this happen, hope nobody was injured, hope the incident can be used as a learning tool to help reduce such events from happening again...

They had it off by 9 pm last night . Had to bring in some of the cool guy toys to get it off the mountain but it is gone for the most part. Daniel was open for business the whole time. They used 6 fire extinguishers but it was too much for them. They just let it burn and not hurt the surrounding areas. It will not hurt us OHV guys as it was the military and s*** happens all the time like this. Trust me on that. No harm no foul.

Beno, looking at that photo above, looks like I really shouldnt worry about adding too much weight on a roof rack... Toyota- supporting guerrillas world wide since 1951....

I hear you... But what the other site said was that he got stuck high center and they broke a fluid line trying to pull him off. They were speculating, of course. :-)

What really happened is classified.

I remember when the m-151 jeep was faced out and hummers where coming, quite a few 151 accidentally caught on fire all of a sudden, in cold nights, by strict coincidence, all by themselves... Any MRAPS in the area?
