...l, and have a snorkel waiting for install. HER baby, and she wanted it!
Which snorkel are you installing? I definitely want to install one in the future.

I got mine from Malaysia off Ebay repurposed from a Prado, took a little inside clearancing work to get it to work, but it fits perfect now

I got mine from Iron Man and it fit perfectly.

I tried to get an Ironman snorkel and it wasnt happening, was told it was backordered at the time, ended up having to trim the inlets of the snorkel and the inner piece, but the rest of the snorkel fit like it was made for the gx

I waited 3 months for mine to slow boat over from aussie land :P

Ouch, I waited about 5 days lol

I got mine from Ironman. Ordered it in late January...it finally got here in mid June! No ones fault though. The big thing that slowed it down by a few months was the dock workers union strike on the West coast. Couldn't find anyone to unload all the ships!

nice build, your GX looks ace. what was the deciding factor to iclude a diff drop kit? i was contemplating the diff drop for our GX but read on here that it wasn't necessary :hmm:

It is the same snorkel used on the diesel. I believe the part number ends in 006 or 007.

^yup its the 3.0L diesel Prado 120 snorkel, same exact fitment

Thanks for the complements.
As for the diff drop kit, I never installed it, and wish I didn't buy it. When I installed a 3" lift on my Tundra, I did installed a diff drop, and I believe it was a smart decision. I assumed, when I ordered the lift for the GX it would need one as well. After I installed the lift I compared the CV angles from both vehicles and noticed the GX's CV angles were significantly less than my Tundra's. I figured if my Tundra has been lifted for 60k+ miles, towing 6-14k pound trailers through rutted up construction sites, and hasn't had any CV issues. Then the GX's post lift CV angles would not be a concern. If a diff drop was installed the CV axles would pretty much be straight. So I now have a $30 box of bolts and spacers.

A diff drop really isnt needed for the standard lifts on GXes. They work fine without, I have had mine on for a few year and no issues at all (aside from breaking stuff due to driving and terrain) :)

Nice ride Black ... minus running boards, lift , and tires give these GXs a whole new personality ... I'm gonna be running a similar stance ...
people are still scratchin thier heads ... like why did you buy that vehicle ... bit when they see it beefed up they start to get it ... can wait ... I like color too !

Those tires look sweet man! So what was the verdict on the 285's rubbing the stock UCA with the factory wheels? Did you have to run some wheel spacers, or did the clear OK? Thanks for any info.

So with the lift and tires out of the way, I've started working on the more luxurious side of overlanding. A Whynter 62 qt. dual zone fridge/freezer was delivered to my door. Then I started building a cargo drawer and fridge slide. I'm waiting on the 30" sliders to come in to install the actual drawer and the tray for the fridge to sit on. There is a 34M deep cycle marine AGM battery tucked in between the fridge and the seats to power the fridge and future auxiliary power needs. As soon as the drawers are completed I will begin wiring in a voltage sensing relay to automatically control the dual battery system.

I am running Light Racing upper control arms. I only have about 3/8" of clearance between the tires and the UCAs. So, I doubt a 285 with a 3" lift and factory UCAs would be possible.

Looking good, I like what you have done
