Preface : I was in Austin TX in 2011 and saw this funky looking Toyota with a badge "FJ Cruiser" on the back of it. I got back to Houston , and immediately bought one and the addiction began. I built it the best I could with the expendable funds I had , and took it to several parks , and traveled to Ouray Co.
Fast Foward to 2017 and I've gone through a couple of 80s, FJ Cruisers and currently daily drive a 5th Gen 4Runner .
After going to Ouray in July 2016 and visiting with Mark @ Meteltech 4X4 , my wife and I decided when we could find the right GX470, we'd get one .
Picked up a 06 with 78k miles, non KDSS last night. We plan to build this one to overland vs hard wheeling. Hope you guys enjoy the build , I plan to update the thread as the build progresses.
