I have an update on mine. I did a normal drain and fill first, reset the codes. They popped back up in about a week of regular driving (200ish miles). No abnormal driving behavior, UNLESS the vehicle sits for a long time (72+ hours). If it does, then reverse is very hesitant to engage. If I drove it regularly, zero drivability issues after resetting the codes.

A week later, I dropped the pan. Nothing abnormal in there, no glitter, just the normal light gray paste on the magnets. Pan had definitely never been dropped before, the gasket was original and basically flaked off/had to be scraped off with some force. Strainer/filter looked totally normal, nothing noticeable in there. I put a new filter in, new pan gasket, buttoned it up, added 6 quarts of Toyota ATF WS, got it up to temperature and set the level. THEN I added one bottle of AT-205 and closed it up.

Since then, I've put ~600 miles on it. No codes, no odd transmission behavior, shifts perfectly. Zero problems. Shifts better than damn near any other automatic I've had. Once I get it to 1000 miles I'll do a drain and fill, and then I'll just work a drain & fill into each oil change for awhile.

I did have a local transmission shop give an opinion about it - it boiled down to replace two solenoids for about $1800 and hope it works or do a full rebuild for $7500. Even if the AT-205 buys me a year and 10k miles, that's huge if the long term alternative is a rebuild!

Great feedback. So that’s now 2 of us with perfect *short term* results from AT205. Awesome! Who’s next 😂

I def appreciate another option vs. DIY, rebuild unknown or full replace or doing nothing.

Short term for sure now, absolutely not for everyone as these codes mean many things underneath. I am not a big believer in adding snake oil into items and then magically getting better. Time will tell. Not any risk, why not?

I will say I felt better simply holding the bottle. That counts! 😝
