Took out the floor plate and box I had in there, and started the process of dampening the rear. Turns out, it's pretty decent work and I only got like 1/3rd of the way through before calling it for lunch. We'll see how much I actually end up covering - I've read that you really only need to do the really flat parts, but we'll see what it does.

I put that in my GX470 and have been quite happy with it. Between that and the drawers it is quiet in the back.

I read that too but just did everything when I did mine.

I got my antenna mounts from ebay ..
Plan on having at least a Unity gain GMRS and a we boost initially

Occasionally getting ABS and Traction Control warnings upon startup. ABS sensor?
I get it with low brake fluid.

I'll have to do some inspecting underneath to see if anything got clipped

Interesting. What brake fluid are you using? I've never even checked mine
Motul 5.1. I drive a lot, happens when the pads are mostly warn

Still undecided on what tires I will be purchasing for these wheels. My current tire on the oem wheel is only like 10 months old so not in any rush.
I am trying to make up my mind on either staying no lift with 265/70 or just throw the towel in and lift it with a larger tire

I have many years & miles on my lifted tacoma with 255/8516, the gx was supposed to stay relatively stock after I did tires on the oem wheels

This isn't going to plan now after I unexpectedly hit a chunk of ice covered by snow while doing a slow U turn in a parking lot...
Now I am flirting with the idea of cutting the bumper to fix the damage, didn't want to go through insurance and if you spend money it might as well be for upgrades right? logically my answer to a busted bumper was order new wheels with zero plan

If you cut it maybe follow the suggested lines on this thread in case you want to get the filler panel

You can also run the codes. You need a code reader that can detect ABS/SRS codes, They are around $100-150.

Also you should flush your brake fluid every ~3 years. Brake fluid is hydrophilic (i.e., it attracts water). When that happens it will boil over at a lower temperature than fresh brake fluid if your brakes get hot, which will cause a brake failure due to the air bubbles. And, it will rust out your brake system from the inside out. I flushed this fluid out of my FIL's Dodge pickup last weekend. It was probably in there for 10+ years....lots of rust particles from the lines/wheel cylinders/calipers were in the fluid. It stops much better now.

I have a good scanner, I'll scan it in a bit for codes

Meanwhile the reservoir looks very low if not empty... going to fill it in the interim before I get a chance to actually flush it
(I can just fill it to the mid-line right? No need to burp it or anything?)

Yes, you can fill to the full line with DOT 4 fluid. Chances are it's low due to pad wear (as the pistons in the calipers will be farther "in" and therefore contain more fluid as the pads become thinner) or a slow leak somewhere. If you are on original pads and have not refilled the fluid previously, it's probably pad wear.

A brake fluid flush is usually pretty cheap at most any shop, but is also easy to DIY in the driveway for a GX since the electric brake booster moves a huge amount of fluid.

I have DOT 3 which is what the book specifies. I'll do DOT 4 next time. I do have only like 2k miles on these pads/rotors but don't know if a brake flush had been done prior to my buying the GX in 2021 (& I've never done a brake flush on this truck).

Planning to do most of the fluids this spring/summer.

Brake fluid is full, not sure how I missed that other than that the truck was in the shade when I checked it earlier and I used a flashlight this time around

Only code for the brakes was U0073 - Communication Bus of Control Module Is Off. Cleared it but don't think that was related.

All wires and lines etc look good, so we'll see if it happens again.

Might be related to battery issues were having earlier. All sorts of funky things can happen on low voltage.

Yep, and I think the last few times I got the warnings it was with the last (dying) battery. So hopefully nothing.
That was my issue. The ABS wiring harness needed replacement.
What specifically did you have to replace?
