belts are pretty tight. I will check the connections agian in the morning but all seemed well. If stuff is tight I will try swapping in the old regulator...not fun :(

thanks agian brotha...

Hey guys im still at a loss, could you guys check out 60s tech and see if ya can help me out in my post...

I wish i was out surfing....spent the day under the hood. Swtched the alt out and reg for the new to old so many times my head is spinning. I am starting to think there is a crack or a short in one of the wires going to the alt. I went and got the battery and the Alt. tested....both where fine.

I am still at a loss and this is bugging me big time.

Yeeeaaaasssss! Much left to do - still unpacking (althought did get an e-mail saying not to bother stripping the wax off the boards - hopefully still something left). Good trip.

Did everyone get the e-mail about the alcohol ban on the Tennessee side? Does it apply to the river campsites as well? Kinda bummed - but after my escapades last week seriously considering teetotoling GSMTR anyways.

Welcome back, Gringo! Mike is coming over tonight to work on his new fuel injection. Come on by if ya get a chance.

Make sure your alt is grounded. I know it sounds stupid. A jumper cable between ground on battery and alt housing will tell you if you have an issue. 10 sec to test.

So let me get this right... you just put a ground on the casing of the Alt. and to the negative terminal? thanks for the tip I will try it tomorrow....post back up and let me know if thats correct...thanks man.

Got yer coffee. Had to go to Ft. Pierce last night to pick up Lola and the trailer. Think I drove past Barry while out to dinner with the parents - he was driving Mike's white 100 on Midway - small world.

I'm still several hours behind on sleep - but need to get working quick. Shocks, new shock towers, brake lines and shackles came yesteday - still waiting for my high steer arm so I can reassemble and get loaded on trailer. Hoping to get d-shafts this week as well.

Let me know the work schedule - might be nice to have my 40 over there to compare with Mike's fuel injection - hope it went well.

I got clutch problems brewing. Went semi accidentially into some deep water and clutch froze that eve. Now its sort of dragging when you go to push it into gear. heinous.

Sounds like you guys are rocking down south. Wish I lived closer to ya'lls hot bed of cruiser activity.

Whatever Chuck D you know they are slackers....drinking bags of meat and what not.

Any of you guys got a 60 series 81-84 rear shaft laying around I could buy off you...Its a stab in the dark since i know you guys love those short wheel base things:princess:

This "HOT BED OF CRUISER ACTIVITY" is an annual thing that occurs each year the two weeks preceeding GSMTR. In this short span of roughly two weeks, we manage to squeeze in about 10 months of wrenching. This is accomplished by sleep deprivation, dereliction of our jobs, and copious amounts of Corona.

The remaining 49 weeks are sheer boredom down here.......

Didn't get message in time. E-mail me direct - I check that often - cell phone is currently dead :flipoff2: . Will most likely be home tonight working on brakes and shock mounts.

Doh!!!

I am stressing on outstanding parts orders. Just called Luke at 4x4 Labs to check status of them rebending my high steer arm. They were leaving for Moab in one hour till next Monday and the box was sitting on the floor - Doh!!!! Called back 30 min. later and he had it bent and agreed he could send it back overnight.... Many thanks! :D Still gonna sit on pins and needles till it shows.

Same with driveshafts - sitting on the floor. Made a few corrections to the order and had to pony up for 3 day shipping - hope to heck they get here by next Wednesday :crybaby:
