On the 460, can you open up the flasher module and grind down the resistor wire/hoop with a dremel like on a 470? That's what I did and it worked perfectly to get rid of the hyperflash issue. Not sure how much that system changed for the 460.

I'll lose the smart tap feature if I went back with the factory flasher module.

So my GROM unit is getting more unstable the last 6-7 months. Randomly the display will go blank and I've got to go to a factory screen then back to audio to get it back (usually press climate). Also, randomly it'll freeze and refuse touch inputs and the solution to that is a complete power off + open door + start vehicle to fix it. It's becoming a daily thing now with the issues. Getting 3 years out of something this costly is rather infuriating. I suspect the heat has shortened its lifespan which was a concern I brought up to GROM a couple years ago. It needs a redesign to include a good internal fan and external heatsink at the least. That is unless it's planned obsolescence...

I'm going to think long and hard about my next step with my audio because I'm too attached to carplay. Hate to say it but GX*Bob's solution just might in the cards.

------

On another note I still don't know what to do about my extra lighting problem.

Could the unit be having thermal issues from dirty heat sinks? Can it be blown out with canned air?

I can check, but it's been in my glovebox the whole time and it's super clean in there.

So, I'm in the middle of something.

@MrTorgue Hey my family and I are headed to northern Idaho in early October. We're renting a cabin close to Lake Pend Oreille (I think). Can you recommend places to check out, where to eat, maybe a local trail that's not too difficult (I'll have my wife, both kiddos, and both dogs with us. Thanks in advance!

Sounds fun! The lake is pretty big with lots of communities around it on all sides. Are you going to be nearer to; Sandpoint, Clark Fork, or Bayview? I can definitely recommend some good spots in and around Sandpoint since that's about 35mi south of me. We should connect and go eat somewhere!

Asking wife now exactly where we are staying. She books places, my job is to just drive haha.

Okay I was wrong, as usual. The cabin is just outside Coeur d'Alene.

Looks like something that came out of the Ghost Busters ambulance.

Ha-ha-ha!
Are we having a contest to see who can tear up their rear interior most?? Right now, I think Clint is winning. :p
I think I won. Everything is now put back together. :D

Here's the result before I put the interior back in. It's not perfect but it does seem to of worked after a quick drive. Tire and road noise is a bit quieter.

I decided not to do mine for a couple of reasons but got everything I needed to do it. If you want or don't have yet I have the plain ecru cap garnishes (for no seat belt) and have an extra THEOZMAN power tap. If you want them I'd sell them to you for $60 which is pretty decent savings, hit me up with a PM if you want them. If you don't want them same offer goes to JDUB fab but it is your thread so thought I'd offer them up to you first. Otherwise they would\will sit in my garage in the extra parts box forever LOL.

Thanks for the offer but I'll let @JDUB fab have a crack at it. I have two of those 3rd row harnesses and I ordered the blank Ecru caps from Bell Lexus during their sale.

No worries. Coeur d’Alene is about 90 minutes from me. I don't know much about Coeur d’Alene to make any recommendations other than there is a Costco and a Mongolian grill (close to Costco) there. LOL

I removed the second row too! Along with the seatbelts. What does that get me.
I remove and toss in my middle row as needed. I do wish those seats were lighter.
