Last day, we decided to go down the challenge trail in reverse. It was less challenging but still cool. But we did see the carnage the big group of assholes left, there were signs everywhere about zero fire tolerance, these fookers where burning pallets.

Further down we saw this beut. Based on the evidence in the cabin, and in the bed, we figured he voted for Hillary.

Don't be to hard on them, there just out there trying to make America great. Looks like a good trip, all that's missing is a short barrel O/U.

I forgot one of the MOST IMPORTANT THING. Didnt take any photos but Jonathan did. We went off trail down an unknown trail. From there, to another unknow trail up a rough axle crossing short hill, that ended in an old cemetery. Old old graves, many were just a stone, no names, but a few had names and dates, 1881 was oldest.

One was dated 1917, a young private, 122nd infantry or so that died in WWI. On veterans day, we stood on front of his grave and saluted the young man! :)

We where guided there by curiosity, and something else. It was amazing. We cleaned up graves as much as we could and moved on.

That was the intent! Not sure if your boys would have had a good time, it was very cold at night. We went in to our tents by 9pm, too cold and fire ban. I brought my propane fire ring, and even that was banned due to fire danger.
Big Agnes kept me warm though...

The boys have never been cold on a camping trip...there have been nights that I was uncomfortable and they wake up sweaty.
Too much wheel time and not enough running around and smacking things with stick time and they do get a bit antsy.
They did have a great time at their engineering camp - built some kind of RC robot. I added to the spousal contentment bank by painting the FROG. I suspect you had more fun than I.

Izzy you are reminding me that we do not get out in the woods enough. We'll be up for another May trip for sure.

Another one, this is the difficult part, we did it in reverse on the way out.

Looking to do this the second full week of June.. What mapping software are you guys using?

I use a combination of maps, Gaiagps for tracking and downloading the traverse route, and AvenzaPDF maps with downloaded Trails Illustrated maps. No map has everything, but both combined give me the best results.
