Gauging interest in a new tailgate cover

As mentioned in my post its still not flush without the washers due to the lip of the well nut. I might try cutting that off. Am I missing something or did this get missed in production? The tailgate is completely straight. Thanks!
It sounds like that center hole is recessed in some years, not in others. Yes, you should put down pressure next to each one you are tightening. However, if you still have a little gap and it bothers you go ahead and cut the lip off. It's not the end of the world if you need some more well nuts- I have a ton of them.

Let me know what year trucks you guys have and whether the center hole is recessed. My 03 is recessed.

2004 center hole is not recessed, which doesn't make any sense of course. I've put down pressure on each hole and everything fits great except for the center hole gap. I'll play around with cutting the lip tomorrow. Any of your test users 2004+?

Thanks

I've installed them in a 2003 and 2000, and I don't recall the center hole not being recessed in either.

Are you taking orders for more or is the group buy closed? @TrekboxX

I have a little material left, so for now still taking orders. If the demand continues I may keep it as a product, but if it's just one here and there it's not worth the time unless I make them in big batches.

Just for clarification my '00 LC does not have the recessed center hole

2005 LX470. Center hole is not recessed. Mine fits nice and snug with the just the well nut (lip intact). My panel was slightly bowed up in the center in its relaxed, unattached state. I think this was due to the weatherstripping I added/replaced in the center of the tailgate. It took additional attention and effort to get the center portion flush with the tailgate, but regardless mine fits nice and snug.

Strange. It's very possible the 2000 I worked on was the same, I just don't recall. I do remember all of the holes required different number of washers as the tailgate was a bit banged up. Hmm. Either way, if your center hole isn't recessed just don't use washers there. I can't imagine the "gap" created from the tiny squishable lip on the well nut will be a big deal.

You could always give the center hole a good whack with a ball peen hammer. :0 Instant recess!

Ours has been flawless... we've been so busy using it that we almost havent had time for photography... (a good problem to have).

2003 has all recessed holes - weird how there's a variation.

I cut the lip off and bingo... Perfect fit. Like from the factory fit. Thanks @TrekboxX Awesome product! I think the Line-X is perfect for dogs.

FYI my 2003 did not have a recessed center hole. It was flat and I did not use the washers on this wellnut. It fit perfect and I love it. I will post pictures when I get better light during the day!

Couldn't be happier. 5 minute install - sent the old, nasty, stained carpet out with the trash. This product is money. Thanks!
