Got mine today and installed 10 of the 16 screws.

Excellent fit and finish @TrekboxX! Can't emphasize enough the excellent workmanship on the Richlite and padded cover.

So, just to complete the install, what is the ideal size allen wrench for the 6 screws for the padded cover fasteners?

For some reason, my bike Park Tool lacked this one size. (Yea, who knew?)
Hmmm. It is usually 3/32 for #8 screws. Did you find that the modified screws were a different size than the rest? I don't recall...

Yea, here's a link to the AWS-10.

I used the 2.5mm on the 10 screws, but the screws for the fasteners are smaller and the 2mm was too small. The 2.5mm too big.

Not a big deal, I'll find one that works, just thought I'd ask if anyone knows the answer.

Thanks for the tip - I'll give it a try.

Hey guys. Picked up the LINE-X tailgate covers today. All gray ones are going back tomorrow, as well as a few tan ones. The gray looks a bit off-color, like kind of bluish. This is strange because we always use the same color for our standard gray, and it always looks the same. They may have gotten the wrong pigment. There were a few tan ones with some imperfections, so they will just re-coat those. I'm picky, and they probably think I'm a PIA, but that's ok. The covers I have will start shipping asap, and hopefully they'll fix the others right away.

I had forgotten I had made some extras, so all of the tan ones were packed today and will ship tomorrow. They are recoating the gray.

Did the tan line-x ship?

Thanks

Is there an ETA on the gray line-x units being shipped after recoat?
Thanks!

Yes
x2...any tracking if so?
I can get tracking if anyone really needs it, but to be honest most folks didn't provide a good email with their order (paypal done through business, wife, etc.). To send tracking through UPS would have required deciphering whether each email looked like it was in fact the customer's, so I decided against including it. So, it requires composing a pm for everybody just for tracking. I can do it, but if it's just curiosity I'd respectfully ask that you just let me know if it doesn't arrive and we can track it. If you need to plan for delivery, we can do it also. I hope that doesn't come across the wrong way! These take usually 1-5 days depending your distance from CA. Tan ones shipped Friday.

Talked to LINE-X this morning. They were hoping to squeeze them in this afternoon, which translates to tomorrow at the earliest :)

@TrekboxX I just got my tan line-x and it looks great. I'm installing it and the front middle of the cover would not go flush. I looked and its the only hole in the tailgate that is not recessed. Any advice? I tried not running the two washers on that hole and its still not flush like the rest of the cover.

Thanks

Don't put washers on that hole.

Upon installing mine I noticed that the lip of my tailgate is a wee bit bent in a couple spots. That might explain some variation the gap.
As you did and as advised, I skipped the washers on the center upper hole.

Sorry guys- I don't recall the center hole not being recessed- I'll change the instructions for future orders. The washers are only there to keep the well nut down in the recess so it bulges at the correct spot.

Fyi- all covers have now shipped. Gray went out today. Thanks all!

As mentioned in my post its still not flush without the washers due to the lip of the well nut. I might try cutting that off. Am I missing something or did this get missed in production? The tailgate is completely straight. Thanks!

I would not cut the lip off the well nut. If it spins in won't work, and the rubber lip keeps it from spinning.
I had to put quite a bit of pressure on the panel to hold it down while tightening the nuts. Maybe try again?

Thanks I'll give it another go tomorrow.

All of the holes in my tailgate were recessed. However, I only needed to add 1 washer to each of the well nuts instead of 2 to get my cover to sit completely flush.
